US military action under Trump is ‘what a superpower looks like’: Joe Concha
Washington Examiner senior writer Joe Concha said the U.S. military has “objectively” achieved what other countries couldn’t do “on their own” in the past year, crediting President Donald Trump.
Concha made his remark in response to a Wall Street Journal op-ed that declared the United States as “the sole superpower again,” with China following at “a distant second place.” He contended that “legacy media” won’t credit Trump for this, but this hasn’t stopped the president and his administration from doing what Russia, China, or even Europe couldn’t.
“When we’re talking about the snatch and grab of a narco-terrorist like [former Venezuelan dictator] Nicolas Maduro who likely will now go to jail for the rest of his life after sending drugs into this country for many, many years, while making [Venezuela] profoundly poor, 8 million people leaving that country,” Concha said on Fox Business’s Varney & Co. Thursday.
“Donald Trump, with one mission, gets him out of there, and it’s a new day for Venezuela and, more importantly, for the oil markets that will be open to the entire world and not just China, Russia, and Iran.”
Concha also recalled Operation Midnight Hammer, which the U.S. conducted against Iran in June, carrying out “one bold mission” against the Middle Eastern country’s nuclear facilities without any U.S. casualties. He said previous presidents have discussed this “for years,” but Trump carried out this action “without any real response” from the Iranians.
On the economic front, Concha noted how many were critical of Trump’s use of tariffs when they were unveiled in April. Nine months later, the U.S.’s inflation is down compared to the Biden administration, and the country’s GDP could be up “well above” 5% in the upcoming quarter.
“This is what a superpower looks like, economically, militarily, diplomatically, and that’s something that other countries simply cannot brag [about] in terms of having that trifecta,” Concha said.
TRUMP’S PICK TO LEAD US SOUTHERN COMMAND DEFLECTS ON VENEZUELA QUESTIONS
Trump said on Tuesday that he is canceling his meeting with Iranian officials amid the mass protests happening in Iran, encouraging protesters to continue their demonstrations. He also demanded that Iranian officials halt the killings, telling its citizens that “help is on the way.”
Following Trump’s warning, the president has said Iran promised not to execute protesters convicted during the wave of demonstrations.
