US ‘right track’ rating is the highest ever under Trump – Washington Examiner

Recent polling indicates that Americans feel the country is on the “right track” at the highest level ever recorded during President Donald Trump’s governance. Surveys conducted by Cygnal and Rasmussen Reports reveal strong approval ratings, with Rasmussen showing 49% of respondents believing the country is headed in the right direction compared to 45% who think otherwise. Cygnal’s numbers reflect a slightly different viewpoint, with 45% affirming the right track and 52% opposing it.

Trump himself highlighted these optimistic ratings during a speech in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that support for the nation’s direction had not been this high in over two decades.Analysts suggest that the ratings may continue to improve, especially following recent positive developments in trade and geopolitical tensions. The findings align with Trump’s approval ratings, which are reportedly performing better than those of former President Barack Obama at the same point in his second term.

A polling standard that sizes up how Americans feel about the overall direction of the country has reached its highest level ever in two new surveys, the latest indication that voters are happy with President Donald Trump‘s actions so far.

Polls shared with Secrets from Cygnal and Rasmussen Reports show that the “right track” rating is the highest either has recorded.

For Rasmussen, the right track is 49%, the wrong track is 45%.

“Highest ever, can’t say that enough,” said Rasmussen pollster Mark Mitchell.

For Cygnal, the right track/wrong track rating is 45% to 52%.

“Optimism in the direction of the country per right direction/wrong track reaching an all-time high,” said the Cygnal survey analysis.

Trump noted the historic high of Rasmussen’s rating during a speech in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

“The number of Americans who believe the nation is on the right track,” said Trump, “is now the highest in over 20 years, and it hasn’t been anything like this, because for many years it was the wrong track and I can tell you for the last four years it was definitely the wrong track but it’s the highest it’s been in many, many years.”

Mitchell suggested that the right track rating could rise into majority territory with new daily polling. The current rating is from polls done before the new China trade agreement, the suspension of tensions between Pakistan and India, and lower inflation were announced.

“We do have a lot of winning,” he said, noting that the last three spikes of right direction came during Trump’s first and current terms in office. What’s more, while surges in right direction ratings typically fade quickly, the current rating is holding.

“It’s astounding for people to finally get what they voted for. That’s the only way you get a number like this,” said Mitchell.

The positive findings in the right track/wrong track ratings echo the approval ratings of Trump since he entered office a second time. Three key polls, followed closely by Secrets, for example, showed that Trump’s approval is equal to or higher than former President Barack Obama’s at this stage of his second term.

“Voters view the direction of the nation at 52% wrong track and 45% right direction. This is actually less positive than Donald Trump’s image of 51% unfavorable and 47% favorable. Trump performs net three points better than the direction of the country,” said Cygnal pollster Brent Buchanan.
