SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico—In a heartfelt video, Alix Dorsainvil, a U.S. nurse who was recently kidnapped in Haiti along with her young daughter, expressed her gratitude to those who prayed for her during her ordeal.
Sitting in a serene garden with the gentle chirping of crickets in the background, Dorsainvil appeared alone in the nearly five-minute video. Speaking entirely in Haitian Creole, she thanked the supporters of El Roi, the Christian group founded by her husband that provides essential services in Haiti’s most impoverished areas. The video was posted on El Roi’s website on Monday.
