Unicorn Gender? University tries to train student leaders that ‘men and women don’t exist’

“Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.”

The message of that quotation from George Orwell’s novel 1984 is: When leaders start trying to alter basic common sense, watch out.

Resident assistants at Western Carolina University are being schooled that two plus two equals five, however, and as minor leaders at their school are expected to pass on to their charges that there are more than two genders and that skin color is more important than shared experience and humanity. The training is held every semester and is mandatory for both new and current RAs at the school, FOX News reports.

Even the term “melting pot” is now offensive, claims one slide of the university’s “gender sensitivity training.”

Presentations shared with FOX scold students that they are “denying” the “racial experience” of a fellow student if they say “when I look at you I don’t see color.” The “melting pot” metaphor — long used in the U.S. to describe many different faiths, ethnicities and nationalities blending together into a human whole — is portrayed as saying all people “should assimilate to the dominant culture.”

Except that in a melting pot, nothing dominates. All are blended together into something new.

One training course called “Rainbow 101” features a picture of a “gender unicorn” representing various “gender identities” and “gender expressions.” With it goes a video condescendingly titled “Human sexuality is complicated.”

One Western Carolina RA trainee told FOX about being angry that “what should be one of the premier leadership positions on campus, being an RA, has been hijacked by wokeness. … took the job because I wanted to help people in their college experience, not be told that men and women don’t exist and that everyone has their own gender unicorn.”
