UFC fighter Julian Erosa criticizes Lia Thomas: ‘I’m against cheating.
UFC Fighter Julian Erosa Takes a Stand Against Unfair Competition
UFC fighter Julian Erosa recently made headlines for his strong criticism of transgender swimmer Lia Thomas entering women’s sports, labeling it as cheating. Erosa, who spoke to the press post his victory over Ricardo Ramos, expressed his disdain for what he views as unfair practices in sports.
“I don’t like cheaters,”
Initially, Erosa teased the idea of facing a non-fighter in his next bout, aiming for a shock factor. However, when probed further, he declared his desire to challenge Thomas in women’s MMA, highlighting his concerns about the current state of affairs in the sporting world.
When asked about the possibility of transgender athletes competing in women’s sports, Erosa firmly stated:
“Absolutely not.”
Erosa emphasized the importance of common sense in such matters, expressing his belief that fairness should prevail above all else.
Women’s Sports Activist Lauds Erosa
Erosa’s remarks resonated with women’s sports activist Riley Gaines, who applauded his stance against unfair competition. Gaines, known for her involvement in the fight for integrity in women’s sports, praised Erosa’s bold comments.
“BASED. Julian Erosa calls out cheating men in his post-fight interview. … I wanted to encourage him to transition from women’s swimming into women’s MMA, and then I’ll transition into becoming a woman and beat that dude’s ass.”
Gaines, supported by 15 collegiate athletes, recently took legal action against the NCAA, accusing the organization of aligning with extreme viewpoints that compromise fairness and equality in sports.
