U.S. Envoy to North Korea arrives in South Korea to discuss diplomacy tensions over Pyongyang’s recent missile tests

The U.S. Envoy for North Korea visits South Korea to discuss denuclearization and tension over Pyongyang’s recent missile tests.

Special Representative Sung Kim arrived in South Korea on Saturday after a new submarine launched by North Korea sparked concern from the U.S. Kim said during their chats, he urged North Korea to sustain from provoking other countries.

“I look forward to having productive follow-up discussions tomorrow here in Seoul,” Kim said in a brief statement. Kim and Noh Kyu-duk are expected to discuss how to revive talks and have even proposed an “end of war” declaration.

Meanwhile, denuclearization talks between the U.S. and Pyongyang have remained on hold after failing to agree on a deal from the Hanoi Summit in 2019.
