U.S. Attorney General Grants “Special Counsel” Status to Investigator of Hunter Biden
In an exciting development, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced on Friday that the Department of Justice has bestowed “special counsel“ status upon the U.S. attorney tasked with investigating President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.
According to ABC News, Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, made the request earlier this week, and Garland agreed that it was the right move.
“This appointment confirms my commitment to provide Mr. Weiss all the resources he requests,” Garland stated. “It also reaffirms that Mr. Weiss has the authority he needs to conduct a thorough investigation and to continue to take the steps he deems appropriate independently based only on the facts and the law.”
