Two killed in shooting at North Carolina party: Police
Two peopel were killed and 11 others critically wounded in a mass shooting at a large party near Maxton, North Carolina, early Saturday morning. According to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, 13 victims were shot in the incident, wich occurred about 95 miles southwest of Raleigh, close to the South Carolina border. sheriff Burnis Wilkins stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community and described the shooting as an isolated incident. Over 150 people fled the scene before law enforcement arrived shortly before 3 a.m. No arrests have been made, and the victims’ identities have not been released. The shooting adds to a recent series of mass shootings in the region and across the country,including incidents in South Carolina,North Carolina,and Texas.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said in an update that a total of 13 victims were shot at the party. The incident unfolded outside Maxton, about 95 miles southwest of Raleigh near the South Carolina border.
“There is no current threat to the community as this appears to have been an isolated incident,” Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said.
“More than 150 of people ran from the location before law enforcement arrived,” he added.
In his initial statement, Wilkins confirmed deputies and homicide and crime scene investigators arrived on the scene before 3 a.m. Saturday.
The names of the victims remain undisclosed. No arrests have been made at this time.

One victim was taken to the hospital for serious yet non-life-threatening injuries, and a suspect was taken into custody. Like the mass shooting in North Carolina, the Austin shooting is believed to be an isolated incident.
