Trump cautions followers against being deceived by Ramaswamy
Former President Donald Trump Takes Aim at Republican Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy
Former President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on fellow Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, accusing him of not being a true supporter of the ”Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement. Trump made his remarks on his social media platform Truth Social, just before his rally in Iowa.
“Vivek started his campaign as a great supporter, ‘the best President in generations,’ etc,” Trump wrote, quoting Ramaswamy’s statement during an RNC debate last year. “Unfortunately, now all he does is disguise his support in the form of deceitful campaign tricks. Very sly, but a vote for Vivek is a vote for the ‘other side’ — don’t get duped by this. Vote for ‘TRUMP,’ don’t waste your vote! Vivek is not MAGA.”
Ramaswamy, who is the youngest remaining candidate, has been struggling in the polls and did not qualify for CNN’s recent debate. Trump, on the other hand, qualified for the debate but did not attend.
In response to Trump’s attack, Ramaswamy has condemned Trump’s removal from the Colorado and Maine ballots and has even filed an amicus brief to the Supreme Court. The case alleges that Trump violated the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment on January 6, 2021.
Despite facing various indictments, including federal charges of mishandling classified documents, Trump continues to maintain a significant lead in the polls for the GOP presidential nomination. According to the latest Suffolk University Political Research Center poll, Trump has 54% support from likely Iowa Republican caucus voters, while former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley has 20% and Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has 13%.
