Trump trolls ‘Environmental Insurrectionists’ ahead of winter storm

Trump trolls ‘Environmental Insurrectionists’ over global warming as winter storm prepares to hit eastern US

With a massive winter storm set to ravage parts of the United States, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to throw shade at environmentalists, serving with a side of caution for Americans in the storm’s path.

“Record Cold Wave expected to hit 40 States. Rarely seen anything like it before,” Trump wrote on Friday. “Could the Environmental Insurrectionists please explain — WHATEVER HAPPENED TO GLOBAL WARMING???”

The post came as the winter storm, nicknamed Fern, which is expected to bring heavy snowfall, ice, and plunging temperatures, began pushing across northern and southeastern parts of the country.

Forecasters said the storm could affect up to 160 million people, with the Washington, D.C., area expected to see the most severe conditions beginning on Saturday evening and lasting into Monday.

Unlike many weekends, Trump is expected to stay in the district as the storm intensifies.

The president frequently travels to his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida on weekends. His decision to stay in the district, even as various governors have declared states of emergency ahead of the storm, could suggest concern about possible travel disruptions and power outages.

Administration officials have emphasized preparedness as the storm approaches, urging residents to limit travel and stock up on essential supplies.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in an X post that she met with emergency management officials to discuss coordination of response efforts.

“DHS, FEMA, CISA, USCG, and our other federal partners are closely monitoring conditions and coordinating with state and local partners to ensure readiness,” Noem said. “Governors remain in the lead, and we stand ready to support.”

A MASSIVE WINTER STORM IS SET TO FREEZE DC THIS WEEKEND: WHAT TO KNOW

As the storm approaches, Govs. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), Wes Moore (D-MD), Kathy Hochul (D-NY), Bill Lee (R-TN), and Andy Beshar (D-KY) have declared states of emergency.

Winter weather alerts span a vast area from Minnesota to Texas, with the latter bracing for possibly devastating ice accumulation.
