“Let me express the horror and grief [of] so many Americans at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk. I felt Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty, and an inspiration to millions and millions of people. Our prayers are with his wonderful wife, [Erika], and his beautiful children, fantastic people they are,” the president said. “We miss him greatly, yet I have no doubt that Charlie’s voice and the courage he put into the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live on.”

Trump added that he and the White House are already searching for a date to award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.

“I can only guarantee you one thing, that we will have a very big crowd,” he continued. “Very, very big.”

“Charlie was a patriot to my great fellow Americans. I am filled with grief and anger at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk on a college campus in Utah. “My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it, as well as those who go after our judges, law enforcement officials, and everyone else who brings order to our country,” Trump added. “Radical left political violence has hurt too many innocent people and taken too many lives.”
