Trump lashes out at New York Times report on his aging: ‘Never worked so hard’

President Donald Trump ripped the New York Times on Wednesday morning for publishing a report on his age and physical health as president.

The New York Times article, titled “Shorter Days, Signs of Fatigue: Trump Faces Realities of Aging in Office,” walked through a recent Oval Office event in which Trump seemed to close his eyes, doze off, and exhibit symptoms related to his chronic venous insufficiency diagnosis.

Trump blasted the article as a “hit piece” in a Truth Social post Wednesday morning. He touted his electoral victory against former Vice President Kamala Harris, his several peacemaking deals, and economic victories so far in the first year of his second term.

“To do this requires a lot of Work and Energy, and I have never worked so hard in my life. Yet despite all of this the Radical Left Lunatics in the soon to fold New York Times did a hit piece on me that I am perhaps losing my Energy, despite facts that show the exact opposite. They know this is wrong, as is almost every thing that they write about me, including election results, ALL PURPOSELY NEGATIVE,” Trump wrote.

The report also included an analysis of his White House schedule that said Trump’s official appearances start at a later time than they did in 2017, at an average time of about 12:08 p.m., compared to 10:31 a.m. to date in his first term. The report also said that his total number of official events has decreased by 39% to date.

Trump, rebuking the report, also took a personal dig at one of the reporters of the story, calling her “a third rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out” in the Truth Social post.

“There will be a day when I run low on Energy, it happens to everyone, but with a PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND A COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST (‘That was aced’) JUST RECENTLY TAKEN, it certainly is not now! GOD BLESS AMERICA & MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Trump wrote.
