Trump: FBI Agents Rummaged Through Melania’s ‘Clothing and Personal Items’

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday said FBI agents raiding his Mar-a-Lago home rummaged through former first lady Melania Trump’s clothing and personal items.

“Just learned that agents went through the First Lady’s closets and rummaged through her clothing and personal items. Surprisingly, left area in a relative mess. Wow!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

It’s not clear if Trump was referring to reports from the New York Post and other media outlets earlier this week, which cited anonymous sources, that claimed the agents went through her personal belongings.

The former first lady has not issued any public statements on the FBI raid. The Epoch Times has contacted spokespersons for the former president.

Trump on Truth Social confirmed the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid on Monday evening, accusing the Biden administration and Department of Justice of using the agency for political ends.

Since then, the FBI and Justice Department have remained tight-lipped, having issued no public comments on the search until Attorney General Merrick Garland’s press conference on Thursday afternoon. The attorney general confirmed that he “personally approved” the FBI raid and said his agency is filing a motion to unseal a warrant that was used to search the former president’s property.

“I personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter … the Department does not take such a decision lightly,” Garland said.
