Trump defends Pam Bondi, urges FBI to move past Epstein files debacle – Washington Examiner

the article reports that former President Donald trump publicly defended Attorney General Pam Bondi amid internal conflicts between her and FBI officials regarding the handling of files related to Jeffrey Epstein. Trump praised Bondi’s performance, criticized the infighting within the Department of Justice and FBI, and urged the agencies to focus on investigating alleged voter fraud and political corruption linked to the 2020 election, rather than the Epstein case. He described the Epstein investigation as a distraction fueled by the “Radical Left” and emphasized the need for unity within his management. The article also mentions reports of possible resignations by FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy director Dan Bongino over the dispute, though Patel denied plans to leave, and Bongino has not publicly commented.

President Donald Trump came to Attorney General Pam Bondi‘s defense over the weekend amid a rift between her and FBI officials over the handling of the Epstein files, saying she is doing a “fantastic” job and urging his administration to remain united.

Trump, while praising Bondi’s work as attorney general, expressed his displeasure with the infighting between the Department of Justice and the FBI following the conclusion of the agencies’ investigation into disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, which ultimately led to the findings that no “client list” existed and Epstein committed suicide in his Manhattan jail cell.

“What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?’ They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening. We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein,” the president posted on Truth Social.

Trump continued his statement on Saturday by urging the FBI to focus on voter fraud and the “stolen” 2020 election, instead of what he sees as the “Radical Left inspired” Epstein files, which he ultimately said “nobody cares about.”

“Kash Patel, and the FBI, must be focused on investigating Voter Fraud, Political Corruption, ActBlue, The Rigged and Stolen Election of 2020, and arresting Thugs and Criminals, instead of spending month after month looking at nothing but the same old, Radical Left inspired Documents on Jeffrey Epstein. LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT! The 2020 Election was Rigged and Stolen, and they tried to do the same thing in 2024 — That’s what she is looking into as AG, and much more. One year ago our Country was DEAD, now it’s the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World. Let’s keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about,” the president added.

Trump’s initial reaction to the feud between Bondi and top officials at the FBI follows reports over the weekend suggesting FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino would resign if Bondi stayed on as attorney general.

Patel sought to dispel those reports earlier on Saturday, saying the “conspiracy theories just aren’t true, never have been” and that he would continue to serve in the Trump administration “for as long as he [Trump] calls on me.”

PATEL DENIES REPORTS OF HIS IMMINENT DEPARTURE FROM FBI

Bongino, meanwhile, has yet to publicly comment on the feud after skipping work on Friday due to his frustration with the Justice Department.

However, Fox News reported on Saturday morning that he had a heated meeting with White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and Bondi about the Epstein case, after which he considered resigning.
