Donald Trump’s attorney claims the judge had already made up his mind about her client’s guilt before he even testified.
On Monday, attorney Alina Habba spoke to reporters outside of the Manhattan court-house as Trump took the stand in his civil fraud trial.
She criticized Judge Engoron, describing him as ‘unhinged’ after he shouted at her and ordered her to sit down while she defended her client.
The judge even threatened to remove the former president from the stand.
The judge repeatedly interrupted Trump’s testimony and stated that he could not provide lengthy answers.
“I’m not here to hear what he has to say,” Habba said. “That was what rang true loud and could not have been more honest coming from the judge who has already predetermined that my client committed fraud before we even walked into this courtroom.”
Habba also accused Attorney General Letitia James of already forming an opinion when she called Trump a liar and labeled his company as fraudulent before his testimony.

How did Judge Engoron’s alleged interruptions of Trump’s testimony affect the fairness and impartiality of the trial?
Donald Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, made a strong statement outside the Manhattan courthouse on Monday, claiming that the judge had already made up his mind about her client’s guilt before he even testified.
As Trump took the stand in his civil fraud trial, Habba criticized Judge Engoron, describing him as “unhinged” after he shouted at her and ordered her to sit down while she defended her client. The judge even went so far as to threaten to remove the former president from the stand.
One of the main issues Habba raised was the judge’s repeated interruptions of Trump’s testimony, stating that he could not provide lengthy answers. Habba said, “I’m not here to hear what he has to say. That was what rang true loud and could not have been more honest coming from the judge who has already predetermined that my client committed fraud before we even walked into this courtroom.”
The tension between Habba and Judge Engoron was evident during the trial, and the attorney did not hold back in her critique of both the judge and New York Attorney General Letitia James. In a tweet shared by Julia, Habba was described as going “scorched earth” on AG James and Judge Engoron. Habba alleged that the judge attempted to shorten Trump’s testimony and claimed that he was influenced by politics rather than weighing the evidence impartially. She also suggested that AG James only had her Soros-backing to rely on.
It is important to note that this article is based on an image caption and a tweet, and further information about the trial and the claims made by Alina Habba would be necessary to provide a complete and balanced analysis. As the trial continues, it remains to be seen how these allegations will impact the proceedings and the final verdict.
