Trump and Musk dine together at Mar-a-Lago as feud seemingly ends

Elon Musk revealed on X that he had a “lovely” dinner with President Donald Trump and first lady Melania trump at Mar-a-Lago, posting a photo and the caption “2026 is going to be amazing!” the meeting – at a roped-off table while Trump was hosting other guests, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier in the stay – is being read as a sign the public feud between Musk and Trump has eased. The two clashed previously after Musk led the short-lived Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), criticized Trump’s “big, stunning bill,” and launched a third-party effort called the America Party, which trump dismissed. Since last summer they have appeared together more often, and the Washington Examiner says it has reached out to the white House for comment.

Trump and Musk dine together at Mar-a-Lago as feud seemingly ends

Former Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk revealed he had dinner with President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday night, the latest sign the two have put a public feud behind them.

“2026 is going to be amazing!” Musk captioned the photo of himself, Trump, and first lady Melania Trump on X Sunday. According to Musk, the dinner was “lovely.”

The three were seated at a roped-off table at Trump’s resort, where the president spent the holidays before departing for the White House on Sunday night. The dinner comes after Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago, who also spoke to Musk during his stay at the Florida resort.

Musk led DOGE for 130 days. After leaving the cost-saving agency, which has since become part of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, Musk criticized Trump’s policies, most notably in the “big, beautiful bill,” sparking a feud between the two.

Musk also launched the America Party last year, a third-party he claimed would work to “give you back your freedom.”

Trump immediately voiced his doubt over the third-party plan.

“I think it’s ridiculous to start a third party,” Trump said at the time. “Third parties have never worked, so he can have fun with it, but I think it’s ridiculous.”

Despite being a former adviser to the president, Musk pledged to help challenge “every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history,” in reference to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

SOTOMAYOR IMPLIES CORRUPTION BETWEEN MUSK AND TRUMP

Since the events of the summer, however, Trump and Musk have been seen together more often, including at a memorial service for the late right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.

The Washington Examiner has reached out to the White House for comment.
