Trevor Noah Jokes About Charlie Kirk’s Assassination During Stand-Up Comedy Show

The article criticizes left-wing reactions to the assassination of conservative christian figure Charlie Kirk. it highlights two types of responses from liberals: some openly expressed malicious delight, while others, like comedian Trevor Noah, masked their joy behind a facade of sanctimony. During a recent comedy show, Noah joked about the murder, suggesting there was something “funny” about Kirk being shot while defending guns, a statement that many found offensive and distasteful. The article references social media backlash condemning Noah’s comments and notes that critics have pointed to his declining popularity since leaving “The Daily Show.” It argues that, beyond the jokes, the most troubling aspect is the insincerity of liberals who publicly denounced Kirk’s killing but simultaneously disparaged him and fueled opposed rhetoric, seemingly condoning violence against political opponents.

Leftists who publicly reacted to conservative Christian icon Charlie Kirk’s assassination last month fall into two basic categories.

Some showcased their demonic glee, while others used sanctimoniousness to conceal their quiet-yet-still-demonic glee.

Comedian Trevor Noah, former host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” belongs in the second category.

During a recent appearance at New York City’s Comedy Cellar, Noah drew laughs from his liberal audience while pointing out the “funny” part of Kirk’s assassination.

In typical liberal fashion, Noah chose a slimy way of getting to his “jokes” about the murder.

First, the comedian insisted that he originally had no intention of talking about Kirk. But then, Noah said, too many comedians have felt constrained on the subject.

Imagine: No one wants to laugh at an assassination!

Well, liberals do, of course, so Noah — much like Jimmy Kimmel, host of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” — gave the audience what it wanted while posing as a free-speech champion.

“You can’t say there’s nothing funny about it,” Noah said of Kirk’s murder.

“The guy was shot while defending guns,” the comedian added moments later. “Do you understand how — ? I’m not even writing that as a joke. As a human, you have to admit, that is an incongruous, funny thing that happens.”

Readers who, for whatever reason, want to watch Noah’s performance may do so in the YouTube video below. The relevant segment began around the 13:45 mark.

“When people show you who they are, believe them,” one user wrote on the social media platform X. “This is beyond disgusting.”

Meanwhile, Rob Schmitt of Newsmax taunted Noah as a failed late-night host and now “an obscure comedian.”

According to Forbes, Noah’s debut as “The Daily Show” host in September 2015 attracted 3.47 million viewers. By August 2022, however — shortly before he left the show — Noah was drawing an average of only 383,000 viewers.

Schmitt, therefore, had it right when he described Noah as having run the show “into the ground.”

By Noah’s logic, if you support the Bill of Rights and then die by violence, that qualifies as funny.

That, however, might rank as only the second-most repulsive thing about the former late-night host and his fellow liberals.

The most repulsive thing about him — and them — is the disingenuous way they pretended to find Kirk’s murder abhorrent while simultaneously slandering him and then ratcheting up the rhetoric that has poisoned so many unstable leftists’ minds.

It is almost as if he — and they — approve of violence against the “right” targets.
