TikTokers Siding With 9/11 Terrorists Is What Happens When You Teach Kids To Hate America
Young Americans Sympathizing with Terrorists on TikTok
It’s a disturbing trend: young Americans on the popular video-sharing platform TikTok are expressing sympathy for terrorists. Not only did they praise the Hamas terrorists who attacked Israeli civilians, but now they are also showing support for al-Qaeda terrorists who attacked our own soil in 2001. In fact, some users even found Osama bin Laden’s anti-American writings “eye-opening” and ”right.”
The Guardian recently took down bin Laden’s 2002 “letter to the American people” after it went viral on TikTok. This document explained why Islamic terrorists attacked the U.S. on 9/11, resulting in the deaths of approximately 3,000 people. It’s concerning that a platform linked to the Chinese Communist Party has become the fourth most popular in the United States, especially among young people.
One TikToker said, “Reading this letter, it becomes apparent to me that the actions of 9/11 were just the result of our government failing other nations.” Another user posted a video reading the letter with the caption, ”he was right.”
Over the past 24 hours, thousands of TikToks have been posted where people share how they just read Bin Laden’s infamous “Letter to America,” in which he explained why he attacked the United States.

The letter has gone viral 21 years after it was written, coinciding with the turmoil in the Middle East that threatens to spark more acts of terrorism worldwide. The recent ground invasion of the Gaza Strip by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in response to a surprise attack by Palestinian terrorists has further fueled tensions.
In his 2002 letter, Bin Laden attempted to justify the 9/11 attacks as retribution for perceived injustices against Palestine. He claimed that Palestine had been under military occupation for over 80 years and accused the United States of supporting the Jews who had occupied the land for more than 50 years.
TikTok’s promotion of anti-Israel and anti-America propaganda to young people is deeply concerning. It’s no surprise that activists are showing solidarity with terrorist groups like Hamas and the perpetrators of 9/11. This sentiment is a result of years of academic indoctrination with anti-colonial themes that vilify Western progress. College campuses have long been breeding grounds for extremist activism, which then spills over into mainstream newsrooms and corporate boardrooms.
The spread of popular hashtags on TikTok overwhelmingly favors pro-Palestinian content, with the hashtag “#standwithpalestine” receiving over 4 billion views compared to “#standwithisrael” with 464 million views. The nationwide protests have also exposed the blatantly antisemitic motivations of many participants.

Reports of antisemitic attacks in the United States are on the rise, with New York City experiencing a 164 percent spike in anti-Jewish crime. Anti-Israel rioters even targeted the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee, injuring six police officers.

The evening demonstrations also led to the shutdown of House offices on Capitol Hill, with one Democrat lawmaker admitting that the riot “scared me more than January 6.”

How can platforms like TikTok take responsibility in regulating and moderating content that spreads hate, violence, and terrorism sympathies, and promote diverse perspectives and counter-narratives that promote peace and understanding
Ws, while hashtags advocating for peace and coexistence receive far fewer views. This indicates a significant bias in the platform’s algorithm, which amplifies anti-Western and anti-Israel sentiments.
It is crucial to address this issue and ensure that young Americans are not being influenced by extremist ideologies. Parents, educators, and policymakers must engage in open and honest discussions about the complexities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the dangers of sympathizing with terrorists. It is essential to provide young people with accurate information and empower them to think critically about the narratives they encounter on social media platforms like TikTok.
Moreover, TikTok itself has a responsibility to regulate and moderate content that spreads hate, violence, and terrorism sympathies. The platform should actively remove videos that promote terrorist ideologies and take measures to ensure that its algorithm does not reinforce extremist views. This includes promoting diverse perspectives and counter-narratives that promote peace, tolerance, and understanding.
As a society, we must recognize that the spread of radical ideologies on social media platforms like TikTok poses a serious threat to our national security and the well-being of future generations. Combating this trend requires collaborative efforts from individuals, communities, and platforms themselves. It is crucial that we remain vigilant and proactive in countering extremist narratives, promoting informed dialogue, and safeguarding our youth from the allure of terrorist sympathies.
By doing so, we can hope to create a safer, more inclusive digital space for young Americans and foster a society that rejects terrorism and embraces peace, understanding, and respect for all.
