Sen. Ted Cruz Slams Supreme Court for Ruling Against Texas Border Security
In a fiery episode of his ”Verdict” podcast, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) expressed his outrage at the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to side with the Biden administration in its fight against Texas’ efforts to secure its border with Mexico.
The Supreme Court ruled that the administration could remove sections of razor wire that Texas had placed along the border to prevent the influx of illegal immigrants under the Biden administration. This ruling did not sit well with Cruz.
“This is a horrible decision. I’m angry about it,” Cruz declared. “It is deeply disturbing. We are witnessing an invasion at our southern border, with 9.6 million illegal immigrants crossing under Joe Biden. This is deliberate. He wants this to happen. It is the worst illegal immigration crisis in our nation’s history.”
Cruz pointed out that the decision was made by the Court’s left-wing justices, as well as Justices John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett. Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh all voted against the Biden administration’s request.
“There is a heavy presumption in Washington and federal courts that the federal government trumps the states,” Cruz explained. “But the Constitution’s supremacy clause states that federal laws are the supreme law of the land. I believe it is a real problem that John Roberts is disconnected from what is happening at the southern border. Amy Coney Barrett, as a law professor from Indiana, lacks understanding of the situation as well.”
Expressing his frustration, Cruz emphasized, “What the justices fail to grasp is the severity and lawlessness of the Biden administration’s actions. No president has ever disregarded the law like Joe Biden has.”
Cruz accused Biden of intentionally creating the crisis at the border and having no intention of resolving it. He asserted, “He wants more illegal immigrants. Biden is actively fighting against Texas to prevent border security. That’s what they want. They want this invasion. And the Biden administration has the unwavering support of every Democrat in Congress.”
