A Terrifying Incident: Nashville Teacher Robbed at Knife-Point
A shocking incident unfolded at the LEAD Cameron School in Nashville on Tuesday morning. A 36-year-old teacher, who had just arrived at work, was confronted by a stranger in the parking lot. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department identified the suspect as Willie Joe Buford, a 65-year-old man.
“The victim reported that a stranger, subsequently identified as Buford, approached, pulled a butcher knife, and demanded her cash,” the release read.
Despite the teacher’s plea that she had no money, Buford didn’t back down. He proceeded to take her car keys, cellphone, watch, and air pods. The situation quickly escalated as he forced her into the school’s gym.
“She said he then made her go into the gym, where he pushed her into a closet. He then fled in the victim’s Honda Accord,” according to the release.
Fortunately, the police were able to track Buford’s movements using the victim’s phone. They apprehended him later that morning and recovered the teacher’s vehicle, thanks to Buford’s cooperation.
While Buford is currently in custody, facing charges of aggravated robbery, the investigation is ongoing. The authorities anticipate additional charges as the case progresses through the court system.
