  • FAA investigating Amazon after drone cuts internet cable

FAA investigating Amazon after drone cuts internet cable

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating an incident in Waco, Texas, where an Amazon delivery drone (model MK30) struck and cut an internet cable while making a delivery. The event happened on November 18, 2025, when one of the drone’s propellers became entangled in the cable. Amazon reported the incident to the FAA, and no injuries or important internet disruptions occurred. The drone carried out a safe contingent landing-a safety feature designed to end missions early under certain conditions-after the collision. Amazon has compensated for the cable repair and apologized for the inconvenience. The MK30 model was certified by the FAA in March and approved for commercial use in October 2024. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is not investigating as the event is classified as a non-action incident. Despite occasional mishaps, Amazon plans to deliver 500 million packages by drone globally by the end of the decade. Prime Air, Amazon’s drone delivery service, recently started operations in Waco.

FAA investigating Amazon after drone cuts internet cable

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating Amazon after a delivery drone collided with an internet cable in Texas last week, the agency said on Wednesday.

One of Amazon’s MK30 delivery aircraft struck the cable in Waco, Texas, around 12:45 p.m. local time on Nov. 18, the FAA told multiple news outlets. The incident unfolded when one of the drone’s propellers became entangled in the cable after making a delivery, according to a video reported by CNBC.

Amazon self-reported the incident to the aviation agency. The episode resulted in little damage beyond the drone.

“There were no injuries or widespread internet service outages,” an Amazon spokesperson told CNBC. “We’ve paid for the cable line’s repair for the customer and have apologized for the inconvenience this caused them.”

After cutting the cable, the drone shut down its motor and lowered itself safely to the ground. The propeller tangled in the cable was damaged, but the aircraft was left mostly intact.

Amazon said the drone performed a “safe contingent landing” after it “clipped a thin, overhead internet cable”; the company defined a safe contingent landing as a procedure that is part of each drone’s mission profile.

“This procedure allows the drone to safely conclude its mission early when specific conditions warrant it, much like how a commercial airliner might choose to divert to another airport when the weather changes unexpectedly,” the tech giant says on its website. “It’s a planned safety feature designed to manage operational risks.”

In March, the FAA certified the specific MK30 drone involved in the incident. The new MK30 drones received FAA approval in October 2024, allowing them to begin commercial operations.

The National Transportation Safety Board said it is not investigating the incident because it’s classified as a “non-action event.”

FAA WARNS AIRLINES FLYING TO VENEZUELA OF ‘POTENTIAL RISK’ AS TRUMP CONSIDERS STRIKES AGAINST MADURO

In October, the FAA and NTSB investigated a crash involving two Amazon delivery drones that collided with a crane in Arizona. No one was injured in that incident.

Despite recent delivery mishaps, Amazon aims to deliver 500 million packages globally via drone by the end of the decade. Prime Air began delivering packages by drone to residents in Waco earlier this month.

Trump says Russian drone incursion into Poland ‘could’ve been a mistake’

Teh article discusses comments made by former President Donald Trump regarding a recent Russian drone incursion into Polish airspace during the conflict in Ukraine. Trump suggested the incident “could’ve been a mistake,” though he expressed his displeasure with the situation overall. European leaders, including foreign ministers from Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine, condemned the drone strikes as a deliberate provocation and escalation of tensions by Russia. Polish officials reported that Russian drones violated their airspace multiple times. A senior U.S. Marine Corps official indicated the incursion was likely intentional and described it as either a provocative act or a sign of Russian incompetence. The event marks an escalation in Russia’s aggressive actions toward NATO countries amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Trump says Russian drone incursion into Poland ‘could’ve been a mistake’

President Donald Trump said a Russian drone incursion into Poland that occurred during an attack on Ukraine earlier this week could have been an accident.

European leaders have accused Russia of sending drones into Polish airspace to test the NATO alliance’s readiness.

“Could’ve been a mistake. Could’ve been a mistake, but regardless, I’m not happy about anything having to do with that whole situation, but hopefully it’s gonna come to an end,” Trump said Thursday.

Europe said the strike was intentional. “This was a deliberate and coordinated strike constituting an unprecedented provocation and escalation of tension,” the foreign ministers of Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine said in a joint statement Thursday.

Polish officials said Russian drones pierced their airspace 19 times from late Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.

A senior Marine official told lawmakers Thursday he believed Russia’s drone incursion into Polish airspace earlier this week was most likely intentional.

“If it wasn’t [intentional], there’s some significant incompetence there,” Gen. Christopher Mahoney, the current assistant commandant of the Marine Corps and Trump’s nominee to be the next vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

MSNBC ANALYST MATTHEW DOWD FIRED AFTER ‘INSENSITIVE’ CHARLIE KIRK SHOOTING REMARKS

The incursion signaled an escalation in Russia’s aggression against the West even as it battles Ukraine.

“If the Russians meant to do it, it was provocative. If they didn’t mean to do it, it’s an indication of incompetence. At any rate, I think what we’re seeing is the Polish armed forces, from their increase in defense spending to their increase in capability, being emblematic of that balance that we need to do,” Mahoney added.

Drone collides with firefighting plane during Los Angeles wildfires

A drone crashed into a firefighting aircraft near the California Palisades fire Thursday, the Federal Aviation Administration announced.

The aircraft landed safely but sustained wing damage, and it is out of service. The FAA said the incident will be investigated.

“It’s a federal crime, punishable by up to 12 months in prison, to interfere with firefighting efforts on public lands,” the statement said. “Additionally, the FAA can impose a civil penalty of up to $75,000 against any drone pilot who interferes with wildfire suppression, law enforcement or emergency response operations” during a temporary flight restriction.

The drone hit a Super Scooper, which is a firefighting aircraft designed to swoop down onto water sources to collect water that can be dropped onto fires. The aircraft can hold about 7,200 liters of water.

“We hit a drone this afternoon — first one,” said Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone. “Our Super Scooper hit a small drone.”

There are no details on who was flying the drone. The incident occurred as Los Angeles endures wildfires that have burned almost 36,000 acres of land, killed at least 10 people, and caused billions in damages.

Marrone said the FBI plans to come to the area with “aerial armor” to ensure no further drones fly in the firefighting area. There are also temporary flight restrictions in place for most of Los Angeles.

An FAA spokesperson told the Los Angeles Times that it spoke with Los Angeles County Fire Department officials, and “due to the number of manned firefighting aircraft in the airspace, they are currently not able to accommodate drone flights within the TFR,” referencing the restricted airspace.

Drone flights in the airspace won’t be allowed until at least Jan. 23, when the restrictions are lifted.

FAA Finally Takes Action on New Jersey Drone Mystery, Cites ‘Special Security Reasons’

The federal government has initiated a ban on⁣ drone ⁣flights over numerous communities in New⁢ Jersey due⁢ to security concerns following‍ an increase in drone sightings across several states. The Federal Aviation Governance (FAA)⁣ has prohibited drone operations⁢ in‍ areas including Jersey ⁣City, ‌Elizabeth, and ‌Camden, among others,⁤ until⁣ January 17, 2025. This ‍decision comes after the FBI received over 5,000 reports of ‍drones flying⁢ over ⁢military and critical‌ infrastructure, raising alarms about potential security threats.

Officials stated⁣ that unauthorized drone flights could lead to‌ severe repercussions, including the use of ‍”deadly⁣ force” if deemed a⁢ threat. ‍Law enforcement may detain⁢ drone pilots operating ⁢in restricted⁤ regions, reinforcing the seriousness‌ of the regulations. The ‍initiative was characterized by a‌ representative from⁣ the Department ⁣of Homeland Security ‌as a measure taken “out⁤ of an ‍abundance⁣ of ‍caution.”

The surge in drone sightings⁤ began last month, with reports eventually stretching to neighboring states like north Carolina, where residents have also spotted ⁣numerous drones. President joe Biden acknowledged⁢ the situation, emphasizing that there is currently no perceived danger from the drones, which are largely authorized for flight, though ‌the matter is being closely monitored.

Amid reports of drones in the skies spanning multiple states,  the federal government is acting to ban drone flights over much of New Jersey.

The Federal Aviation Administration banned drone flights over a number of communities.

Jersey City, Bayonne, Elizabeth, Harrison, Kearny, Edison, Bridgewater, Cedar Grove, Hamilton, North and South Brunswick, Branchburg, Woodbridge, Clifton, Westampton, Winslow, Gloucester City and Camden are among the communities where drone flights are banned.

The FAA said it was acting for “special security reasons,” according to NorthJersey.com.

Drones that are launched in defiance of the order could face “deadly force” if officials believe they are a security threat.

Pilots flying drones in the banned areas can be detained by law enforcement.

A Department of Homeland Security representative said the flight restrictions were issued “out of an abundance of caution,” according to ABC.

“We continue to assess there is no public safety threat relating to the reported drone sightings,” the representative said in a statement.

“In coordination with the FAA and our critical infrastructure partners who requested temporary flight restrictions over their facilities, out of an abundance of caution, the FAA has issued temporary flight restrictions over some critical infrastructure facilities in New Jersey,” the statement added.

Drone sighting reports began in New Jersey last month and have spread through neighboring states.

A resident in North Carolina has also said drones are visible in the sky, according to WBTV-TV.

“It was very obvious they were not aircraft,” said Chris Poarch, who works at a warehouse in south Charlotte and said he was about 15 drones.

“As we started to survey the sky we noticed eight more other of these lights,” Poarch said.

President Joe Biden on Tuesday night downplayed the drone sightings that have flooded in from multiple East Coast states, according to WCAU-TV.

“There are a lot of drones authorized. We are following this closely. So far no sense of danger,” he said,

Hezbollah drone shattered Netanyahu’s bedroom window – Washington Examiner

A ‍Hezbollah drone struck Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bedroom window⁣ over the weekend, marking a significant incident in regional tensions. The drone, launched from Lebanon, successfully evaded Israel’s‍ air defense systems⁤ and⁣ reportedly shattered the window while ⁢Netanyahu‍ and his wife ⁤were not at home. This event is perceived as a critical⁣ failure of Israeli defense capabilities and highlights Hezbollah’s growing operational strength. Netanyahu described the attack as an ‌assassination attempt and warned that such actions⁣ would not deter him or Israel ‌from their commitments to national security. Hezbollah’s spokesperson has since acknowledged the attack, escalating the narrative of conflict between the groups.

Hezbollah drone shattered Netanyahu’s bedroom window

The bedroom window of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s home was hit and shattered by a Hezbollah drone over the weekend.

Hezbollah launched the drone from Lebanon, evading Israel’s air defense systems, and hit the window of Netanyahu’s bedroom in the Caesarea area. A photo released by the Israelis shows damage to the window. Both Netanyahu and his wife were not home at the time.

A Hezbollah drone hitting Netanyahu’s bedroom window represents both a massive failure of the Israeli air defense systems and demonstrates the extent of Hezbollah’s capabilities.

The prime minister described the incident as an assassination attempt against him.

“The attempt by Iran’s proxy Hezbollah to assassinate me and my wife today was a grave mistake. This will not deter me or the State of Israel from continuing our just war against our enemies in order to secure our future,” Netanyahu said. “I say to Iran and its proxies in its axis of evil: Anyone who tries to harm Israel’s citizens will pay a heavy price.”

Hezbollah Spokesman Mohammed Afif declared on Tuesday the group’s “full, complete and exclusive responsibility for the Caesarea operation targeting … Netanyahu,” according to Al Arabiya.

Israeli leaders have rarely been targeted over the course of its year of conflict against both Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Israeli forces have killed several Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, including the senior leaders of both groups, Yahya Sinwar and Hassan Nasrallah.

U.S. AIR DEFENSES ARE FULL OF HOLES FOR CHINESE DRONES TO EXPLOIT

Drones have repeatedly been shown to be a weakness in Israel’s air defenses.

Earlier this month, another Hezbollah drone hit the dining hall of the IDF Golani Brigade Training Base near Binyamina, killing four troops and severely injuring seven others. Two other Israeli soldiers were killed in a drone attack that was launched from Iraq less than two weeks before that.

Watch: IDF Drone Hunts Down Hamas Leader, Captures Desperate Final Moments

The text discusses the final moments of Yahya‍ Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, who was killed‍ by an Israeli drone in Rafah. Following the‌ release of a video documenting his‌ death, reactions on⁤ the internet have varied, with some leftist commentators suggesting it might inspire‌ terrorism, while others see it‌ as a just end for someone responsible for mass violence against Israelis. Sinwar,‍ identified through ⁣DNA and fingerprints, attempted to‌ evade capture but faced a drone capturing his demise, eventually being shot by an Israeli sniper before the building‍ was destroyed.

The article reflects on Sinwar’s desperate last actions, likening his attempt to defend himself with a ‌stick against a drone to a pathetic end‌ for a man responsible for significant atrocities,⁤ including the deaths of over a thousand Israelis during a recent attack. The narrative emphasizes that despite attempts by some to frame his death as heroic,⁣ the portrayal of his final moments conveys defeat and desperation. The text‍ also critiques those who sympathize with his actions, reinforcing the idea ‌that his⁤ demise represents justice served in ⁢the context of the violent⁢ conflict between ‍Hamas and Israel.

Since the Israeli government released the video of terror mastermind Yahah Sinwar’s final, desperate moments, the internet has been awash with leftists claiming it will be an inspiration to more terrorists.

But the reality is it shows a man — and his bloody, morally bankrupt cause — in a moment of utterly deserved defeat.

And the world can see it.

The mastermind of the massacre that inflamed the Middle East spent his final moments knowing his hunters were watching him — and very personal payback was on its way.

Sinwar, the Hamas terrorist leader who launched the Oct. 7, 2023, invasion of Israel, was hunted down by an Israel Defense Forces drone in the shattered remnants of a building in the former Hamas stronghold of Rafah on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the Israeli government released video of the killer’s desperate ending, as he faced justice from the people he’d wanted to destroy. It’s a scene of desperation and defeat — and it’s better than he deserved:

The man in the video was identified as Sinwar by fingerprints and DNA samples, according to The New York Times. He’d been spotted with two other men by Israeli forces in the Gazan city of Rafah, separated from the others and tried to hide in a building, where the Israeli drone tracked him down.

Sinwar was clearly aware of the drone, and even threw a stick at it in a futile attempt to ward it off.

An Israeli sniper killed him with a bullet to the head, according to the Times, before an Israeli tank shell destroyed much of the building.

To any sane observer, Sinwar’s end was pathetic. The man directly responsible for the brutal murders of about 1,200 Jews in the Oct. 7 attack, and indirectly responsible for the tens of thousands of deaths in the war that has followed, was run down like a common criminal.

He was then watched by his militarily and technologically superior enemy as he bled from his wounds.

In an era of hyper-modern weaponry, he was reduced to using a stick as a weapon against a flying camera that recorded his every move.

While far too many terror sympathizers on social media have, disgracefully, tried to cast Sinwar’s end as heroically defiant, the truth is different.

    And normal people know it:

And the final reality: “He is Eliminated.”

Wars are not Hollywood movies — and even the full disinformation machines of the terrorist sympathizers in the Middle East and the West, spewing their filth in the cyberworld like cackling carrion, can’t change the reality of what is on record here.

A vicious murderer has met his end — a man evil enough to plot the deaths of innocents among the people he considered his enemy and to accept, even welcome, the deaths of his own people as “necessary sacrifices” to score propaganda points among weak-minded Westerners and their biased media outlets.

As the legendary Gen. George S. Patton put it, “No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making some other poor dumb bastard die for his country.”

That’s the ugly reality of war on the bloody ground where wars are fought, not behind keyboards from the comfortable confines of an office or apartment or an Ivy League campus thousands of miles away.

Last week, the IDF made Yahya Sinwar die for his demented dream of a Judenrein Middle East.

No matter what the propaganda mills of the left will churn out in the days, months and years ahead, this is what desperation and defeat look like — and the world knows it.

Netanyahu targeted by Hezbollah drone: Israeli PM escapes grisly fate as weapon explodes near private home

A drone attack was launched at Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s home in Caesarea, Israel, according to the prime minister’s office, in what is believed to be an assassination attempt against Israel’s leader.

“A UAV was launched towards the prime minister’s residence in Caesarea,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement. “The prime minister and his wife were not at the location and there were no injuries in the incident.”

The Israeli military said earlier that a drone was launched from Lebanon, hitting a building in the area of Caesarea. Three drones were sent in total, with two being intercepted. There are no recorded casualties.

The strike is being seen as an assassination attempt against the Israeli leader, who has been steadfast in his pursuit to ensure the safety of his nation’s citizens and root out the organizations seeking to harm Israel.

Along with Hamas, Israel has been fighting the U.S.-designated terrorist organization Hezbollah in Lebanon, having killed the group’s leader just weeks ago. Hezbollah did not take credit for the targeted attack on the Prime Minister’s home.

Israel’s military also reported approximately 180 projectiles fired from Lebanon on Saturday morning, killing one and injuring four people. On Friday, Hezbollah announced it would begin sending more guided missiles and exploding drones into Israel.

The attack comes just days after Israel Defense Forces killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the believed mastermind behind the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, which killed roughly 1,200 Israelis. Hamas took more than 240 people hostage as well.

It is unclear whether Sinwar’s death will lead to a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, which pounded Gaza with strikes on Saturday. Over 42,000 Palestinians have been killed since the Oct. 7 massacre, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry, which does not distinguish between combatants and civilians.

Caesarea is in the center of the country, north of Tel Aviv.

Wray confirms gunman flew drone over Trump rally site hours before assassination attempt – Washington Examiner

The summary is about FBI Director Christopher ⁢Wray ‍confirming details about‌ an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Wray testified that the shooter flew a drone ⁢over ⁢the ⁤rally site before the incident, and ⁤explosive devices were found in the shooter’s car and home. The FBI is leading the investigation, and Wray emphasized that it is still ongoing. ‍Wray also ⁢mentioned that the Secret Service is being investigated for security failures related ‌to the shooting.

Wray confirms gunman flew drone over Trump rally site hours before assassination attempt

FBI Director Christopher Wray fielded questions from lawmakers Wednesday about the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump and confirmed several details about the incident, including that the shooter flew a drone over the Trump rally site.

Wray said during a House Judiciary Committee hearing that Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, used the drone in the 3:50 p.m. to 4 p.m. time frame on the day of the rally and that the FBI believes Crooks may have flown it about 200 yards away from the stage where Trump would speak two hours later.

“We think, but we do not know, so again, this is one of these things that’s qualified because of our ongoing review, that he was livestreaming, you know, viewing the footage” for about 11 minutes, Wray said.

Wray said the FBI recovered the drone in Crooks’s car and also recovered two explosive devices in the vehicle, as well as a third explosive device at Crooks’s home.

The FBI is leading the investigation into the shooting, which left one dead and two seriously injured. Trump was grazed on the side of the head by a bullet, resulting in a minor injury to the former president’s ear.

Wray reiterated several times that the FBI’s investigation was ongoing. Asked by Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) about why the FBI has not provided more details to the public about the shooting, Wray said he was being as transparent as possible, adding, “frankly, unusually so for an ongoing investigation.”

As lawmakers on the committee began laying into Wray about the massive security failures that led to the shooting, Wray clarified the scope of the bureau’s investigation and deferred security-related questions to the Secret Service.

“The FBI’s mandate is focused on the shooter and all things related to his attack,” Wray said, noting that the Department of Homeland Security inspector general and an independent panel are both investigating the Secret Service’s actions.

“There’s a whole lot of work underway and still a lot of work to do, and our understanding of what happened and why will continue to evolve, but we’re going to leave no stone unturned,” Wray said.

The FBI is tasked with establishing Crooks’s motive, and Wray said that is still a work in progress.

“I think it’s fair to say that we do not yet have a clear picture of his motive,” Wray said, noting agents have found no manifestos or garnered any information about a motive from interviews and an examination of Crooks’s social media.

“The shooter appears to have done a lot of searches of public figures in general,” Wray said.

The director indicated that the FBI had issued warrants to obtain information about Crooks’s various digital accounts.

Wray’s long-planned appearance before the committee comes as part of the FBI’s annual congressional oversight, but the circumstances surrounding his testimony changed after the assassination attempt. Many questions focused on that at the start of the hearing, but Wray was still testifying into Wednesday afternoon.
