Local police revealed on Sunday that Bradford James Gille, a 42-year-old male and Michigan resident, is the suspect in custody as officials seek to file terrorism charges and 11 charges of assault with intent to murder against him. Gille is set to be arraigned early this week and faces life in prison, police noted.
Gille is a native of Afton, Michigan, a small community around 90 miles from Traverse City, where the stabbing occurred. According to Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea, Gille has a criminal history that includes assault and controlled substance violations, and previously served jail time in Florida for vandalism.
Gille was quickly brought into custody following the stabbing at the store, with five to six bystanders assisting with the arrest.
