Students in the U.S. Require Additional Schooling to Address Learning Gaps
According to a recent study by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA), students in the U.S. need over four months of extra schooling to overcome the learning gaps in reading and math caused by the lockdown. Despite the allocation of federal COVID relief funds, progress in these subjects has stagnated for students in grades 3 through 8, with marginalized groups being particularly affected.
