Students are ‘traumatized’ by immigrant accused of groping girls: Virginia mother
A Virginia mother is highlighting concerns about safety at Fairfax High School after a 19-year-old undocumented immigrant from El Salvador, Israel Christopher Flores-Ortiz, was arrested on nine counts of assault and battery for allegedly groping female students. The Fairfax County student victim count is cited as 12 by the mother, Stacy Langton, who says many students were traumatized and that some incidents were reported to teachers and a school resource officer. Langton notes that the school used its advanced surveillance system to review footage over several days, leading to Flores-Ortiz’s arrest, and she commends the school and principal for handling the situation, while invoking her past public profile in education debates. She also references Plyler v. Doe to argue that undocumented children can stay in public schools until 22, and calls for policy changes, framing the issue as a public safety concern that should be addressed at higher levels of government. The Department of Homeland security highlighted Flores-Ortiz’s arrest as an example of perceived border-policy failures, and Fairfax County Public Schools has commissioned an independent review by McGuireWoods to examine the allegations, with FCPS Superintendent Michelle C. Reid confirming the investigation.

Virginia mother Stacy Langton said it is “very alarming” how Fairfax High School students are being “victimized” by an illegal immigrant enrolled in the school.
Israel Christopher Flores-Ortiz, a 19-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, was arrested on March 7 on charges of nine counts of assault and battery. He is accused of creeping up on students and groping girls at the school. Langton told the Washington Examiner there are 12 victims.
Langton said she asked her twelfth- and ninth-grade daughters about this story and said both were aware of the situation from other students discussing it. Neither of her daughters were among the victims, though her senior has a best friend who is a cousin to two victims, ages 13 and 14.
“So as a parent, it was very alarming to learn that my daughters had friends who were victimized by this creep,” Langton told the Washington Examiner Wednesday.
Langton shared testimony from her daughter’s best friend, who said three girls were inappropriately touched on Feb. 25, and they “immediately” told their teacher, who called the school resource officer.
Langton said Fairfax High School has “an extremely sophisticated camera system” that allows individual students to be followed throughout the day. This allowed the footage to be reviewed over three days and find the suspect who had groped the alleged victims, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
The mother said the school and its principal, Dr. Georgina Aye, “did everything right” in handling this situation. She said she doesn’t say this “lightly” since she rose to national attention for her feud with Fairfax County Public Schools in 2021, a major focal point in that year’s Virginia gubernatorial election.
Langton detailed a Supreme Court case from 1982 called Plyler v. Doe, which ruled that a state cannot prevent children of undocumented immigrants from attending public school “unless it furthers some substantial goal of the State.” She said this allows these children to stay on school campuses until age 22, which is “a public safety issue” that needs to be “rectified.”
“You can’t have adult males, whether they’re legals or illegals, going to school alongside 13- and 14-year-old girls,” Langton said. “It’s a recipe for disaster. It’s a wonder something like this didn’t happen sooner, and so we need to change the policy if that’s the case, and somebody needs to bring this to the attention of President [Donald] Trump because this was his major campaign issue.
“He campaigned on illegal immigration needing to be stopped, needing to close the border, needing to send all of these criminal illegals and deporting them back to their countries, so why are they going to school with our daughters?”

The Department of Homeland Security spotlighted Flores-Ortiz’s arrest on March 16, calling him and his criminal charges “another example of the Biden Administration’s failed open border policies.” The DHS also criticized Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) for her decision to stop cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
FCPS Superintendent Dr. Michelle C. Reid said she requested an independent outside law firm, McGuireWoods, to conduct a comprehensive review of Flores-Ortiz’s allegations and arrest.
