Alaska fund sends out payments up to $3,284 in just four days.
2022 Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend Payment
The highly anticipated 2022 Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend payment has already reached the majority of recipients. However, there are still a few residents eagerly awaiting their dividend, which is scheduled to arrive in just four days.
The program will be distributing payments of $3,284 on September 14th. These payments are specifically designated for individuals whose applications had the “eligible-not paid” status as of September 6th, according to the state’s records. It’s important to note that these payments are from the 2022 dividend.
Application Period and Eligibility
The Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend program opens its applications from January 1st to March 31st each year. While the state generally does not accept late applications, there are exceptions made for certain individuals who may need to apply past the deadline.
To qualify for the dividend, applicants must be Alaska residents who have the intention of remaining residents indefinitely. Additionally, they must not have any felony convictions and should not claim residency in another state during the dividend year.
Significance of the Permanent Fund Dividend
The payments from the Permanent Fund Dividend are derived from the state’s mineral revenues for the year. These payments are made to benefit both current and future generations of Alaska residents. In fact, the 2022 dividend figure was one of the largest in the program’s history.
“The PFD at $3,284, a total of $13,000 for a family of four, can go a long way in offsetting the record-high costs of energy and food we’re experiencing, preparing for winter, paying off debt, saving for college, or any number of other purposes,” expressed Governor Mike Dunleavy (R-AK) in a statement regarding the 2022 Permanent Fund Dividend payments.
While the payment amounts for the 2023 Permanent Fund Dividend have yet to be announced by state officials, recipients can expect them to be sent out starting in October.
