Montana rebate: $2,500 direct payment sent in four days
The Montana Department of Revenue to Conclude Income Tax Rebate Distribution
The Montana Department of Revenue is wrapping up its distribution of an exciting income tax rebate opportunity for eligible residents in the state. In just four days, residents have the chance to receive up to $2,500 in rebates!
The state has been diligently sending out these rebates based on the 2021 tax returns of individual filers and couples. The distribution process began in July and is set to be completed by December 31st.
Qualifications for the Tax Rebate
- Residency in Montana for the entire 2021 tax year
- Filing tax returns for 2020 and 2021 on time
- Not being claimed as a dependent on someone else’s tax forms
- A figure greater than zero on line 20 of the Montana 2021 income tax form
If you meet these qualifications, you’re in luck! Eligible taxpayers will automatically receive the rebate without the need for any additional forms, as confirmed by the state Department of Revenue.
The amount you receive from the rebate depends on your filing status. Married joint filers can receive a maximum value of $2,500, while individual filers can get up to $1,250. The exact amount you’ll receive is either the maximum based on your filing status or the amount on line 20 of your Montana 2021 income tax form, whichever is less.
“Montanans overpaid their taxes, and we’re giving it back,” exclaimed Governor Greg Gianforte (R-MT). “I look forward to getting this money back into Montanans’ pockets, where it belongs.”
Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity! Claim your tax rebate before it’s too late!
