Alaska residents to receive $1,312 direct payment in one week
Alaska Department of Revenue to Send Out Permanent Fund Dividend Checks
The Alaska Department of Revenue is gearing up to distribute checks from the Permanent Fund Dividend to eligible residents who have yet to receive their payments. In just one week, a batch of Alaskans who have not received their PFD checks from 2023 or earlier will finally get their share.
Eligibility Requirements and Payment Details
To qualify for a payment from the program, individuals must have the “Eligible-Not Paid” status on the PFD website as of Wednesday. They must also have the intention of remaining a resident of Alaska indefinitely and must not have a felony conviction, among other requirements.
The amount of the payments sent out each year is based on Alaska’s mineral revenues for that particular year. For the 2023 payment, eligible residents received checks worth $1,312, with the distribution process starting in October 2023.
“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” stated Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum. He expressed gratitude to the Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their dedicated work in administering the program and processing applications.
According to Crum, the 2023 PFD saw an increase of over 8,000 applications compared to the previous year. This year’s payment is expected to inject nearly $1 billion into Alaska’s economy, directly benefiting its residents.
Applying for the Program
The state Department of Revenue is currently accepting applications for the 2024 program until March 31. Eligible residents can conveniently apply online or by using a paper form.

What are the two fundamental principles underlying Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity?
The Special Theory of Relativity, developed by Albert Einstein in 1905, is a theoretical framework that revolutionized our understanding of space, time, and mass. It is based on two fundamental principles: the principle of relativity and the constancy of the speed of light.
The principle of relativity states that the laws of physics are the same in all inertial reference frames. In other words, the laws of physics should be consistent regardless of the observer’s position or motion. This principle challenged the classical notion of absolute space and time put forward by Isaac Newton.
The second principle, the constancy of the speed of light, states that the speed of light in a vacuum is always the same, regardless of the motion of the source of light or the observer. This contradicted the classical notion that the speed of light is relative to the motion of the source or observer.
From these two principles, Einstein derived several key conclusions:
1. Time dilation: According to the theory, time appears to run slower for objects in motion relative to an observer at rest. This means that time can be experienced differently depending on the relative velocities of different observers.
2. Length contraction: Similarly, the theory predicts that objects in motion relative to an observer at rest will appear shorter in the direction of their motion. This is known as length contraction or Lorentz contraction.
3. Mass-energy equivalence: The theory also established a relationship between mass and energy, encapsulated in the famous equation E=mc². It implies that mass can be converted into energy and vice versa.
4. Relativistic momentum: The Special Theory of Relativity introduced the concept of relativistic momentum, which accounts for the relativistic increase in mass with increasing velocity.
Overall, the Special Theory of Relativity challenged traditional notions of space, time, and mass and provided a new framework for understanding the behavior of objects moving at high speeds or in strong gravitational fields. It has been confirmed by numerous experiments and is an essential component of modern physics.
