In⁤ just three weeks, the Alaska ⁢Department of Revenue will be distributing checks from the Permanent Fund Dividend to‍ a new group⁣ of eligible residents. These individuals have been patiently waiting for⁤ their ‍payments from ‌the⁢ state ⁤program.

The lucky Alaskans who will receive⁤ their ⁣PFD checks on March 21 are those with the “Eligible-Not Paid”⁣ status as of March 13. They‌ have yet to⁤ receive ⁢their payment for⁣ 2023 or earlier.

The ‌Permanent Fund⁢ Dividend calculates its payment amounts based on the ‌state’s annual ⁤mineral revenues and distributes them to ​eligible residents each year. In 2023,⁢ the PFD check amounted to $1,312, with distribution starting in October of ⁤that⁢ year.

“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have ⁣received their share of the state’s natural ​resource wealth,” expressed Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner‍ Adam Crum. He further thanked⁣ the Permanent Fund ‌Dividend Division for their dedicated efforts in administering the‌ program and ​processing applications.

“This year, we processed over 8,000 ⁢more applications than in 2022,” ⁤Crum added. “The 2023 PFD will inject nearly $1 billion into the state’s ‌economy and directly into⁢ the hands of Alaskans.”

To be eligible for the program, applicants must have the intention of remaining a resident⁣ of Alaska indefinitely and must not have a felony conviction, ​among ⁢other requirements.

Applications for the 2024 Permanent Fund Dividend are now open until March 31. Interested individuals can apply online or‍ by using⁣ a paper ‍form.
