Marianne Williamson refutes 2024 race withdrawal rumors
Marianne Williamson Denies Dropping Out of 2024 Race
Democratic Presidential hopeful Marianne Williamson put an end to rumors on Thursday night, asserting that she was not suspending her presidential campaign. Despite a poor showing in New Hampshire and low national polling, Williamson revealed that she was discussing the future of her campaign with volunteers, but no final decision had been made.
“I have NOT said I am suspending the campaign; I have simply shared the questions involved, which any candidacy would be dealing with,” Williamson clarified in a post on X. “I was candid about discussing the challenges that a grassroots campaign faces at such a moment as this. Believe nothing until you’ve heard it from me.”
Williamson’s performance in New Hampshire was lackluster, as she only received 4% of the votes, trailing behind President Joe Biden and his toughest Democratic rival, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN), who secured 19.5% of the vote. Despite being a write-in candidate due to a change in the Democratic primary schedule, Biden emerged as the clear winner.
According to RealClearPolling’s average as of Wednesday, the self-help author is currently polling at 6.5% nationally. Biden, on the other hand, maintains a significant lead with 69.5% of the vote.
The decision to continue her campaign comes as Biden’s challengers face a setback in North Carolina. The state’s election board decided to include only Biden as the sole Democratic candidate on the ballot, citing his active campaigning in the state.
“We are disappointed that the North Carolina Board of Elections abdicated their authority to protect North Carolina voters from the North Carolina Democratic State Party’s attempt to circumvent democracy,” Williamson expressed in a statement. “Their decision to protect political parties instead of voters is a failure to protect democracy itself. The North Carolina State Board of Elections has disgraced themselves and disgraced the voters of North Carolina. The crisis of Democracy in our nation is institutional.”
The upcoming Democratic primary will be held in South Carolina on Feb. 3, 2024, while North Carolina’s primary will take place on Super Tuesday, March 5.

How does Marianne Williamson plan to reassess her campaign strategy and appeal to a broader audience?
I am not dropping out of the 2024 race,” Williamson declared firmly. “While the road ahead may be challenging, I am committed to continuing my campaign and fighting for the progressive values that I believe in.”
Speculation about Williamson’s potential withdrawal from the presidential race had been circulating since her lackluster performance in the New Hampshire primary. As one of the lesser-known candidates in a crowded field, Williamson struggled to gain traction among voters and failed to make a significant impact in the polls. However, she remains adamant that her campaign is far from over.
In a statement, Williamson emphasized the ongoing discussions she had been having with her team and volunteers regarding the future of her campaign. She acknowledged the need to reassess her strategy and make necessary adjustments to resonate with a broader audience. Despite facing significant challenges, Williamson’s determination shines through.
“I understand the obstacles that lie ahead, but I refuse to be deterred by them,” she asserted. “I remain steadfast in my commitment to bringing forth transformative change and building a better future for all Americans.”
Despite her low polling numbers, Williamson continues to attract a devoted following who resonate with her message of love, compassion, and spiritual healing. Her unique approach to politics, centering around the idea of harnessing love as a force for change, has garnered both support and skepticism.
While it is no secret that winning the Democratic nomination is an uphill battle for Williamson, she remains undeterred. Her campaign has been built upon the idea that a different kind of politics is not only possible but necessary. She envisions a political landscape driven by love, unity, and a focus on the wellbeing of all individuals.
As the race for the Democratic nomination intensifies, Williamson’s decision to stay in the race may appear questionable to some. However, she continues to believe that her message deserves a platform and that she can play a role in shaping the future of American politics.
In her closing statement, Williamson expressed gratitude to her supporters and committed to continuing the fight for progressive values. She vowed to keep pushing forward, engaging with voters, and amplifying her message across the nation.
“I am here to stay,” Williamson declared resolutely. “I may be an underdog, but I am not giving up. Together, we can create the change we need to see.”
With her determination firmly intact, Marianne Williamson remains an unconventional yet intriguing figure in the 2024 presidential race. As the campaign trail unfolds, her resilience and unwavering belief in the power of love as a transformative force will undoubtedly continue to captivate both supporters and skeptics alike.
