Steven Tyler delays Aerosmith farewell tour due to vocal cord injury.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler announced on Monday that the band’s farewell tour was being postponed after‌ he sustained a vocal cord ‍injury.

Tyler, 75, shared a statement through the band’s official Instagram page,‍ expressing⁢ his⁣ regrets⁣ and noting ​that he had been ordered to rest ⁢his voice for ‌at least a month.

Steven Tyler’s Vocal Cord Injury Postpones‌ Aerosmith’s Farewell Tour

“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to ‌sing for the next thirty days. I sustained vocal cord damage during​ Saturday’s‍ show ⁣that led to subsequent bleeding,” Tyler wrote. “We’ll need to postpone a few⁢ dates so that we can come ‍back and​ give you the performance you ⁢deserve.”

The post also included a ‌list of cities they were‍ scheduled to perform in‍ the next month, along with new dates.

  • Wednesday Feb 14 2024 ‍– Chicago, IL‍ – United Center

  • Saturday Feb 17 2024 – Washington, DC – Capital One Arena

  • Wednesday Feb ⁢21 2024 –‍ Toronto, ON – Scotiabank Arena

  • Monday Feb 26 2024 ⁢–​ Raleigh, NC – ⁢PNC Arena

  • Thursday Feb 29 2024 – Cleveland, OH – Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse

“All previously purchased tickets will be honored for ‍the rescheduled dates. ⁢Refunds‍ will be ⁤available for those unable to attend,” the statement concluded. “Fans with‍ questions regarding refunds are asked to reach out to their‌ point of purchase.”

The band’s ‍farewell tour, “Peace Out,” kicked off just over a week earlier — with a show on September 2 in Philadelphia ⁢—‌ and was initially scheduled to wrap with a final⁢ show in Montreal, Quebec, on⁤ January 26.

“It’s not goodbye it’s PEACE OUT! Get ready and walk this way, you’re going to get the best show of our lives. Every night will celebrate the five decades of⁤ Aerosmith’s groundbreaking hits as they celebrate 50 years as America’s greatest⁢ rock band,” a statement promoting the tour ​read.

Aerosmith — ‌formed in 1970 by Tyler, Joe​ Perry (guitar), and Tom​ Hamilton (bass) — has ‍been performing‍ and​ touring together for more than five decades, and the⁤ band was inducted into ​the ‍Rock’n’Roll‍ Hall of Fame by performer Kid Rock in 2001.
