MILAN (Reuters) – Carmaker Stellantis to Expand Battery-Making Plants for EV Production
Stellantis, the global carmaker, is set to build more battery-making plants in Europe and North America to support the growing production of electric vehicles (EVs). According to Micky Bly, Stellantis’ Senior Vice President and Head of Global Propulsion Systems, the company has already committed to delivering six gigafactories worldwide, with more to come. Bly made this announcement during the inauguration of Stellantis’ new battery technology center in Turin.
“We have already announced about 250 gigawatt hours of capacity around the world. We believe we need to go to 400 gigawatt hours of capacity around the world,” Bly added.
