Former President Donald Trump’s Former Attorney Jenna Ellis Wins Support Online with Viral Mugshot
Former President Donald Trump’s former attorney Jenna Ellis won support online after her smiling mugshot went viral.
While the media got ahold of her mugshot Wednesday after she was the last defendant in the Fulton County, Georgia, election interference case to surrender that day, and the ninth of 19, Ellis posted the photo herself on X, formerly known as Twitter. Ellis captioned the photo with a scripture verse to explain why she smiled while in the Fulton County Sheriff’s custody.

“‘But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you …’ Matt 5:44,” Ellis wrote. “‘But he who trusts in the Lord, loving kindness shall surround him. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones; And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.’ Psalm 32:10-11.”
“I have faith the Truth will prevail,” Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk posted in response.
“Looking good!” Chaya Raichik, owner of the Libs of TikTok account, wrote.
When another user referred to Ellis as “hot,” the attorney responded: “My lawyer is also my fashion consultant. Thanks for rooting for me.”
Not all X users approved of the use of scripture as her caption. One user wrote: “Quoting scripture is not the same as living by it.”
“Let’s all keep in mind that Jenna Ellis is the liar from Proverbs,” another user wrote. “She’s entitled to the assumption of innocence (as to whether her deeds constitute a crime) but there’s no debating that she lied many times — had she not, she wouldn’t be where she is now.”

The subsequent engagement on her post resulted in Ellis gaining over 6,000 followers on X Thursday as she inched closer to a total of 1 million followers on the platform. As an attorney for the former president, her online presence surged in popularity following November 2020, when President Joe Biden was declared the president-elect.
Ellis is currently fundraising toward her legal defense fund on the Christian site GiveSendGo. As of Thursday she had over $127,000 raised, which is more than half of her current goal. Meanwhile, fellow defendant John Eastman has raised over $500,000 on the same site.
