Low-income households in Colorado to receive SNAP⁤ benefits in September

In just ‌nine days, low-income households in Colorado who ‍participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will begin receiving their grocery aid payments for the ⁣month of September.

The SNAP program in the Centennial State distributes benefits from September 1st to September 10th, with payment dates determined by the last digit of a food stamp‌ recipient’s Social Security number. ⁢For‌ example, if the ⁢recipient’s SSN ends in​ 1, their benefits ⁢will be available on​ the first of the month. If it ends in zero, payments will be allotted on the 10th of the‍ month.

Factors influencing SNAP ‌benefits

The amount of SNAP benefits Coloradans receive depends on various factors, including household‍ size and income (both earned and unearned). For a single person, the maximum monthly payment ‌is $281. A‍ four-person family ‍can receive up to $939, while a household of ⁣eight could receive a maximum payment of $1,691. Each additional member⁢ adds a maximum of $211 to the benefit.

Most Colorado households with‍ income below⁣ 200% of the federal ​poverty level are eligible for SNAP. Gross income limits⁣ for eligibility include $2,266 per month for ‍a household of one, $4,626 for a household of four, and $7,772 for ⁤a household of eight.

Using SNAP⁢ benefits
