Ellie Goulding updates fans after scary firework incident at concert.
Ellie Goulding’s Close Call with a Firework
Ellie Goulding, the talented singer/songwriter, recently had a heart-stopping moment during a concert in Portsmouth, United Kingdom. But don’t worry, she’s okay!
In a video that surfaced on TikTok, Goulding was in the middle of performing her hit song “Miracle” when a firework shot up through the stage right underneath her. The surprise caused her to flinch and cover her face, but she quickly regained her composure and continued to deliver an amazing performance.
Goulding took to Instagram to reassure her 14 million followers that she wasn’t directly hit in the face by the pyrotechnic. She wrote, “To those asking I am ok! Pyro didn’t hit me directly in the face. Face is intact.” She ended her message with a heartfelt “Love you thank you” and a firework emoji.

This incident is a reminder that performers sometimes face unexpected dangers on stage. In 2015, the lead guitarist for the pop band 5 Seconds of Summer, Michael Clifford, accidentally walked into a pyrotechnics display and caught his hair on fire. He suffered burns to his face but later reassured his fans that he was doing okay.
Unfortunately, not all incidents have a happy ending. In 2019, Spanish pop star Joana Sainz García lost her life due to a pyrotechnics malfunction during a performance.
Goulding, who recently became a mother to her son Arthur, has been open about her struggles with mental health. She shared that being around her son helps alleviate her anxiety. She prioritizes being a mother and gives her best in everything she does.
