Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) recently discredited United Nations Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield after she expressed the UN expects the Taliban to respect women’s rights.

In a tweet Wednesday, the Arkansas Republican revealed the UN is giving the Taliban the benefit of the doubt. He called out Thomas-Greenfield in disbelief that she would expect the Taliban to be respectful of women and humanitarian law when the complete opposite is happening.

The senator then shared an article from the New York Post in which exposes the Taliban of going back on their word following Thomas-Greenfield’s comments in a recent interview.

“We have expressed in no uncertain terms here at the United Nations through a very strongly worded press statement from the Security Council that we expect the Taliban to respect human rights,” stated the ambassador.

His remarks came after the Taliban killed a woman earlier this week for not wearing a burqa. The terror group also continued to beat women and children after saying they wouldn’t.
