Say What? Trudeau Claims Canadians Are ‘Disgusted’ Over Truck Convoy Protesters

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke out against a growing truck convoy of vaccine mandate protesters at the nation’s capital on Monday, claiming Canadians are “disgusted” by their behavior.

Trudeau released the post on Twitter just hours after announcing he had tested positive for COVID-19.

“I know this pandemic is frustrating. It’s frustrating that, after two years, we’re not done fighting COVID-19. But over the past few days, Canadians have been shocked – and, frankly, disgusted – by the behaviour displayed by some people protesting in our nation’s capital,” the prime minister wrote.

“I want to be very clear: We’re not intimidated by those who hurl abuse at small business workers and steal food from the homeless. We won’t give in to those who fly racist flags. And we won’t cave to those who engage in vandalism, or dishonour the memory of our veterans,” Trudeau continued in another post.

“There is no place in Canada for this behaviour. So, to those responsible: It needs to stop. And to those who joined the convoy but are uncomfortable with the symbols of hatred and division on display: Be courageous and speak out. Do not stand for, or with, intolerance and hate,” the prime minister concluded.

The alleged “disgusting” behavior stood in stark contrast with many reports of what is really happening among the protesters. For example, some were found cleaning up after the protests at night.

The movement is certainly not focused on racism or excluding others, as has been claimed. Some in Canada’s Sikh community have also embraced the protest.

Bestselling author and Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson called out Trudeau as well, retweeting Trudeau’s claim and calling him “the hiding man.”

The words also came after many Canadians called out Trudeau for disappearing at an undisclosed location on Saturday with his family over alleged safety issues.

As The Daily Wire reported on Saturday, large crowds gathered in Ottawa to protest against the nation’s vaccine mandates, particularly against truckers in the nation:

“So what do you mean, you don’t need it?” Richter recalled asking, adding that the agent replied, “Your phone already popped up on my screen and is correlated with your passport.”

“Think of that,” Richter said. “Can you believe that? So they know everybody who’s coming up to the border before they’re there and they’re tracking them. Maybe it’s outlandish, but what’s to prevent the government from introducing that across Canada and not limiting it to just borders?”
