Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders Takes Bold Action Against Chinese-Owned Company
These days, it’s rare to see an elected official truly prioritize the interests of their constituents and defend the republic. However, Republican Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas is breaking the mold.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Governor Sanders announced that a Chinese company, labeled as “enemy”-owned, would be forced to give up its land in Arkansas.
“I’m announcing that Syngenta, a Chinese-state-owned agra-chemical company, must give up its land holdings in Arkansas,” Sanders declared.
This decision was made in accordance with an Arkansas law that prohibits “enemy”-owned companies from owning land in the state. Act 636, which Governor Sanders signed earlier this year, specifically excludes “prohibited foreign-party-controlled businesses” from owning land in Arkansas.
The context surrounding Governor Sanders’ decision is just as fascinating as the law itself and the Chinese company involved. At the beginning of her announcement, she acknowledged the eye-opening events happening in Israel.
“America’s enemies are on the march,” she stated.
According to Governor Sanders, these enemies include Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, Russia, and China. Each of these entities has expressed hostility towards the United States in various ways.
“Yet, for too long, in the name of tolerance, we’ve let these dangerous governments infiltrate our country. Arkansas will tolerate them no longer,” she declared.
Governor Sanders went on to explain why she applied Act 636 to Syngenta, a company involved in seed research and owning 160 acres of Arkansas land. She highlighted the fact that the U.S. Department of Defense has identified the company’s owner as a Chinese military company posing a threat to the state.
Furthermore, she emphasized that Chinese nationals abroad are obligated to collaborate with Chinese officials in gathering intelligence, leaving no room for trust in those who pledge allegiance to a hostile foreign power.
Governor Sanders also mentioned that she has signed additional bills banning Russian- and Chinese-made drones, as well as public contracts with the Chinese Communist Party. Her goal is to ensure that every company operating in Arkansas is a friend to the state and its hardworking residents.
Finally, Governor Sanders assured that her attorney general has the necessary legal mechanisms in place to evict Syngenta.
“Arkansas will always protect our farmers and our national security interests,” she affirmed.
This decision by Governor Sanders is not only a step in the right direction, but it also addresses a concern that many Americans may not even be aware of – the ownership of U.S. land by hostile foreign powers.
