Sarah Bedford accuses the media of being ‘complicit’ with Democrats by not covering impeachment enough
Sarah Bedford’s Perspective on Media Bias During Biden’s Impeachment Hearing
The Washington Examiner’s Sarah Bedford shed light on the bias within legacy media during President Joe Biden’s recent impeachment hearing, a topic largely neglected by major left-leaning outlets.
“I think the mainstream media has sort have been complicit with the Democrats in moving the goalpost when it comes to this impeachment inquiry and to what Joe Biden is accused of doing while he was vice president, right?”
During her appearance on Fox News’s America’s Newsroom, Bedford criticized ABC and CBS News for dedicating no television airtime to Wednesday’s House impeachment hearing, contrasting with NBC News’s scant two-minute coverage. The hearing marked the first challenge to Biden from the House Oversight Committee, featuring testimonies from witnesses Tony Bobulinski and Jason Galanis.
Facts vs. Narrative
Bedford highlighted discrepancies between the narrative pushed by Democrats and the media and the actual evidence presented. While Biden claimed a clear separation between his vice-presidential role and his son Hunter’s business, questions remain about his awareness of Hunter’s international business dealings and connections with business partners.
“But what we heard in that hearing was not evidence of what Democrats and the media have now said the question should be: was Joe Biden CEO of Hunter Biden Business Peddling Inc.? Did he have a business card? Was his name on the business website?”
“And if not, there’s no evidence of wrongdoing. But if you get back to the original question, there is a lot of evidence of wrongdoing here.”
The House Oversight Committee’s diligent six-month preparation for the hearing underscores the seriousness of the matter. Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) extended an invitation to Biden for future testimony, hinting at potential criminal referrals or legislative actions rather than an impeachment call, given the current lack of sufficient support.
As the media landscape continues to shape the public narrative, Bedford’s insights shed light on the complexities surrounding Biden’s impeachment inquiry and the role that media coverage plays in shaping public opinion.
