It is with great sadness that we share the news of Bryan Randall’s passing. Bryan, the longtime romantic partner of actress Sandra Bullock, died peacefully on Sunday after privately battling ALS for three years.
“It is with great sadness that we share that on August 5th Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a 3 year battle with ALS,” his family said in a statement, per Fox News Digital. “Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”
“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours. At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan,” the statement continued.
ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a neurogenerative disorder that impacts the nerve cells in the spinal cord and the brain. It causes loss of muscle control, which eventually results in death.
A Loving Relationship and Family
- Bryan Randall, a talented photographer, began dating Sandra Bullock after being hired to capture moments at her son’s birthday party in 2015.
- While the couple mostly kept their relationship private, Bullock expressed her love for Randall on a 2021 episode of “Red Table Talk,” as reported by People.
“I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children – three children, [Randall’s] older daughter. It’s the best thing ever,” the “Bullet Train” star said at the time.
Bullock also defended their decision not to get married, emphasizing that their commitment and devotion to each other and their children didn’t require a piece of paper.
“He’s the example that I would want my children to have,” she continued. “I have a partner who’s very Christian and there are two different ways of looking at things. I don’t always agree with him, and he doesn’t always agree with me. But he is an example even when I don’t agree with him.”
Sandra Bullock has two children, Louis (13) and Laila (10), whom she adopted as a single parent. Bryan Randall is survived by his daughter, Skylar (29), from a previous relationship.
