Samuel L. Jackson’s AI Safety Measures Unveiled
Samuel L. Jackson, the legendary actor, has always been aware of the potential dangers of artificial intelligence in the entertainment industry. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Jackson discussed the impact of AI in Hollywood and shared the precautions he takes to safeguard himself from this technology.
During the interview, Jackson revealed that he refuses to allow language like “in perpetuity” in his contracts, as he believes it could be a cause for concern. He emphasized the importance of future actors following his lead and crossing out such terms in their own contracts, stating, “It’s my way of saying, ‘No, I do not approve of this.'”

Samuel L. Jackson’s first encounter with AI occurred many years ago when he was scanned for George Lucas’ film, “The Phantom Menace.” Since then, he has had similar experiences with AI technology in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly in movies where he portrays Nick Fury.
Reflecting on his involvement in the Marvel Universe, Jackson shared, “Every time you change costumes in a Marvel movie, they scan you. Ever since I did ‘Captain Marvel’ and they did the Lola project where they de-aged me and everything else, it’s like, ‘Well, I guess they can do this anytime they want to do it if they really want to!'”
Interestingly, Jackson is not the only Hollywood star who has encountered AI technology. Actors like Harrison Ford, Keanu Reeves, and others have also begun to express their thoughts on the matter.
Harrison Ford, known for his role in the “Star Wars” franchise, revealed that George Lucas’ production company possesses an artificial intelligence program capable of analyzing every frame of film they own. This technology was used to make Ford appear younger in the final film of the “Indiana Jones” series. Ford marveled at the capabilities of the AI program, stating, “They have all this footage, including film that wasn’t printed. So they can mine it from where the light is coming from, from the expression. I don’t know how they do it. But that’s my actual face. Then I put little dots on my face, and I say the words, and they make [it]. It’s fantastic.”
Keanu Reeves, famous for his role in “The Matrix,” has a different perspective on AI. Recalling an incident from the early 2000s, Reeves mentioned how his performance was altered without his consent. He expressed his surprise and discomfort, stating, “They added a tear to my face, and I was just like, ‘Huh?!’ It was like, ‘I don’t even have to be here.'”
