Wagner leader Prigozhin reveals motives in first comments since Russia coup.

The Man Who Led a Daring March: Yevgeny Prigozhin and the Wagner Rebellion

Marching for Justice: A Bold Move

The man at the helm of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, orchestrated a daring expedition that took his private military from Ukraine to Russia. Their mission? To march towards Moscow, not with the intention of overthrowing the government, but to seek justice.

“We didn’t march to overthrow Russia’s leadership and turned around to avoid spilling the blood of Russian soldiers. We regret that we had to hit Russian aviation. Our march aimed to prevent the destruction of Wagner. We wanted to hold accountable those who made mistakes during the special military operation,”

These were the words of Prigozhin himself, as reported by the Kyiv Post. He expressed regret over the necessity of striking Russian aircraft, but claimed that it was in response to bombs and missile strikes launched against his forces.

A Change of Plans: Ceasing the Rebellion

After reaching the city of Rostov, just 120 miles away from Moscow, Prigozhin abruptly called off the rebellion. Reports suggest that he agreed to flee to Belarus, following a decree that his soldiers would have to join the Russian military and an alleged air attack on his forces by the ministry.

According to CNN, Prigozhin stated, “We regret that we were forced to strikes on aircraft, but these aircraft dropped bombs and launched missile strikes.”

The Aftermath: Investigation and Resolution

The Belarusian government claimed to have brokered a deal to end Prigozhin’s pursuit of Moscow. However, the Wagner founder revealed that the decision was made after assessing the situation and realizing the potential bloodshed that would occur. He believed that demonstrating their intentions was enough.

Meanwhile, Russian authorities continue their investigation into the rebellion, seeking to uncover the full story behind this audacious march.
