Rumer Willis’ daughter’s name was a result of a ‘typo’.
Bruce Willis’ Daughter Reveals How Her Baby’s Name Came to Be
In a recent interview, Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, shared the unique story behind her infant daughter’s name, Louetta. According to Rumer, the name was actually a result of a typo during a text conversation with her child’s father, Derek Richard Thomas.
Rumer, who is 35 years old and an actress herself, described the moment as “divine intervention,” as reported by People magazine. Initially considering the name Loretta, Rumer and Derek accidentally left out the ‘R’ and ended up with Louetta.

Excited about the accidental name, Rumer said, “I was like, ‘Oh, I love that!’ It was one of those kind of divine intervention universe moments, and we figured it out quite early in my pregnancy.”
However, even after settling on the name, Rumer admitted to having some doubts. She wondered if Louetta would truly be the right fit for her daughter. “What if she comes out and doesn’t look like this?” she questioned. But her love for the name was so strong that she decided to stick with it, regardless of her baby’s gender.
Rumer also explained her choice of name, emphasizing its versatility. “I wanted to find something that had a lot of versatility,” she said. “If she doesn’t feel like a Louetta, she can go by Lou, she can go by Etta. She can change it up throughout her life. Whatever she wants.”
It’s clear that Rumer put a lot of thought and love into choosing her daughter’s name, and it’s a beautiful reminder that sometimes mistakes can lead to something truly special.
