MTG dismisses 2024 contenders’ nomination prospects.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene: Republican Candidates Don’t Stand a Chance Against Trump
During the Republican debate on Wednesday night, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) made a bold statement about the candidates vying for the Republican nomination in the 2024 election. According to Greene, they simply “don’t have a chance” against former President Donald Trump.
Greene, a known ally of Trump who decided to skip the first debate, expressed her surprise at not even knowing some of the candidates, like Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND). In a clip shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, and shared by the Recount, Greene emphasized that these candidates are not on the same level as Trump.
“These candidates, I don’t even know who some of them are. I was surprised that I didn’t know who the governor of North Dakota and some other people were,” Greene said. “They really don’t have a chance. Because America knows what we had for years with President Trump. We want those days back.”
Greene went on to highlight some of the successes of the former president, such as the time when gas prices were under $2 a gallon. She firmly believes that the race is already over and that Trump is the candidate the American people want for another four years.
She posted on X, “I’ve been saying it for weeks, this primary is over! President Trump is who the American people want to be our president for four more years. #MAGA.”
Trump, who is currently leading the Republican race by a significant margin, made the decision to stay out of the first debate, citing his high polling numbers as the reason. However, eight other presidential hopefuls, including Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), billionaire entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Vice President Mike Pence, and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, will be participating in the debate.
The first debate is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. EDT in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
