Haitian migrants camped out at the Del Rio, Texas border crossing are reportedly being allowed into the U.S. Border officials reportedly told CBS News on Wednesday, thousands of migrants have been freed into the U.S. in recent days as federal officials scramble to clear out the Del Rio section of the border.

This contradicts the Biden administration’s public statements claiming they were expelling thousands of migrants back to their home countries. Instead, thousands are being brought into the U.S. and given 60 days to report to an immigration office. However, many have said it’s unclear how officials are determining who’s allowed in and who’s being sent back.

“Right now it is unclear how they are being processed, what criteria Border Patrol is using to say who should have access to parole, and who is going on the deportation flights,” stated Wade McMullen, attorney for Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights.

In the meantime, reports have emerged that many expelled Haitian migrants are now seeking refuge in Mexico.
