Breyer is one of three liberal-leaning justices on the court, along with Justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor. Justice Amy Coney Barrett is the most recent addition to the Supreme Court after the death of Justice Rith Bader Ginsburg in September 2020.
Breyer has repeatedly spoken out against court-packing.
“What goes around comes around,” he said. “And if the Democrats can do it, then the Republicans can do it.”
