Report: Ex-NFL Running Back Zac Stacy Arrested After Violent Beating Accusation, Video
Former NFL football player Zac Stacy was arrested late Thursday night in Orlando, Florida, following a nationwide search after video surfaced of a man identified as Stacy savagely assaulting his ex-girlfriend in front of a baby.
The assault occurred on Saturday, November 13, and police say they arrived on the scene “within two minutes, and were able to determine a domestic violence battery had taken place and that the suspect, Zackary Stacy, had fled the scene.”
According to TMZ, the victim of the crime filed a restraining order against Stacy on Monday.
“He punched me several times in the head! I begged him to stop because the baby was on the couch just a few feet from where he punched me,” the woman wrote in the restraining order application.
“He then picked me up and threw me into my TV. The TV began to fall and he turned to make sure I wasn’t getting up. As I laid on the floor he began to yell at me, telling me I’m destructive. He then picked me up off the floor and off my feet and body slammed me into our son’s bouncy seat,” she claimed.
Stacy was believed to have fled the state before his Thursday arrest. Following the circulation of the video, the victim took to social media alleging that Stacy’s friends were hiding him from authorities.
“I just want to say thank you to everyone who has continued to support me in this ordeal,” she said in a video. “He’s still not apprehended. I don’t know why. His friends are hiding him. Please, if you know anything, contact your local authorities if you see him. He drives a white Kia Optima, a 2020 I believe, or a 2021.”
“Please, again, if you see him or you know of any location that he might be, please turn him in or call your local authorities.”
Stacy was a record-setting running back at Vanderbilt University, playing four years for the Commodores. In his 2012 senior season, he was named Second Team All-SEC, and became the first Vanderbilt player to rush for 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons.
Stacy was drafted in the fifth round of the 2013 draft by the Rams, playing two years in St. Louis. He then played for one season for the New York Jets, where he appeared in eight games. Stacy finished his career with 1355 rushing yards.
The three-year NFL veteran was recently named the Youth Football Ambassador
