The Georgia Republican brought a ‍cardboard cut out of Carey to ‌the ‍House ⁤floor on Thursday.

The promotional picture on⁤ the cutout was used for Carey’s 1994 holiday campaign for the single “All I want for Christmas is you.”

However, it was captioned “All I want for Christmas is⁢ 12 appropriation bills,” something⁣ that‌ Congress has not passed on time since 1997.

“You know, the past 12 months⁣ have certainly been trying, but our conference has shown that we ⁤can pass ‌strong conservative policy that puts America first,”‍ Collins said. “So, to my colleagues, ⁤enjoy⁢ your‍ time with you family, and come January let’s be prepared to finish what the American people expect us to do. And that’s to get these remaining appropriation bills⁤ across the finish line.”

This isn’t the first time Collins⁤ has ⁢used ⁣Christmas to get his point ⁣across. In the past, he has displayed a festive‍ Hunter Biden cardboard cutout with the⁤ caption “Let it snow.”

⁣How does Representative ‍Mike Collins use Mariah Carey’s image to motivate‌ his colleagues in the House of Representatives?

Representative Mike Collins has recently resorted to an interesting tactic to motivate his colleagues in the House of Representatives. During a session on⁤ the House floor, Collins brought a cardboard cutout of pop star Mariah Carey. ‍

The⁤ promotional picture on the‍ cutout was taken from Carey’s 1994 holiday campaign⁤ for the single “All I want for Christmas is you.” However, it was cleverly captioned “All I want for Christmas⁤ is 12 appropriation bills.” This refers to Congress’s failure to pass all necessary‌ spending bills on ‍time since⁣ 1997.

By using the image of Mariah Carey and linking it to the need for timely appropriation bills, Collins ⁤aims ‌to remind his colleagues of ⁢their responsibility and the importance of the work they are doing. The use of the cutout serves as a visual representation of the ⁢urgency to⁣ pass these bills and fulfill their duty as lawmakers.

This tactic is not uncommon in politics, as lawmakers often use creative methods ‌to bring attention to crucial issues. By using a popular ⁢figure like Mariah Carey, Collins is⁤ able to ‌capture the attention of both his colleagues and the media, ensuring that his message reaches a wider audience.

While some may see this gesture as lighthearted or comical, it should not overshadow the seriousness of⁣ the matter at hand. Appropriation ⁣bills are crucial for the ⁤functioning of the⁣ government, and their⁣ timely passage is a ⁤responsibility that ‍should not be taken lightly.

The use of Mariah Carey’s image as a motivator also highlights the power of ⁣pop culture and celebrities in drawing attention to important issues. It serves as a reminder that lawmakers have the ability to use various platforms to engage the public and create awareness about relevant matters.

It remains to be seen whether Collins’ unique approach will have the desired impact on his colleagues. However, it is ‍evident that he is willing to think outside the box and use unconventional methods to drive his message home. As the new year approaches, the need for timely appropriation⁢ bills becomes even more pressing, and Collins hopes that his colleagues will ‍be inspired ⁣to‍ take action.

In conclusion, Representative Mike Collins has used a cardboard cutout of Mariah Carey to motivate his colleagues in the House of Representatives ‌to pass timely ⁤appropriation ⁢bills. This creative⁣ approach demonstrates ⁣the power of pop culture and the importance of ‌engaging the public in addressing critical issues. Let’s hope that Collins’ efforts ⁣will serve as ‍a reminder to lawmakers of their responsibility and lead to the swift passage of these crucial bills.
