Ramaswamy admits calling Trump a ‘sore loser’; exchanges jabs with Pence.
Pharmaceutical Executive Vivek Ramaswamy Calls Trump a “Sore Loser”
In a recent interview, Vivek Ramaswamy, a prominent pharmaceutical executive, didn’t hold back when discussing former President Donald Trump’s behavior after the 2020 presidential election. Ramaswamy referred to Trump as a “sore loser,” a term that has sparked controversy and drawn responses from various political figures.
Trump and Abrams: Victims of Their Own Making
During the interview, Ramaswamy confirmed that he mentioned Trump and former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams in his book, “Nation of Victims.” He criticized both individuals for their victim mentality and refusal to accept defeat gracefully.
Todd: From your book. No one likes a sore loser and that’s one of the worst victim complexes of all. Are you referring to Donald Trump?
Ramaswamy: I referred in that chapter both to Stacy Abrams and to Donald Trump pic.twitter.com/aOWWRGsjZe

Pence’s Missed Opportunity
When asked about former Vice President Mike Pence’s actions on January 6, 2021, Ramaswamy expressed disappointment. He believed that Pence had the chance to unite the country and demonstrate heroism but failed to do so. Ramaswamy outlined his own vision for election reform, advocating for single-day voting, paper ballots, and government-issued ID cards.

Pence’s Team Fires Back
Pence’s team swiftly responded to Ramaswamy’s comments, highlighting his previous criticism of Trump’s actions during the January 6th riot. They pointed out that Ramaswamy had called Trump’s behavior “downright abhorrent” and blamed him for the events that unfolded. However, Ramaswamy’s stance seemed to have shifted since announcing his candidacy, as he now supports pardoning the peaceful protesters and blames “pervasive censorship” for the riot.
Inbox: Pence campaign hitting Vivek on this. “Ramaswamy has flipped and flopped around the issue of January 6. His most recent comments are perhaps his most egregious, including on this morning’s edition of Meet The Press on NBC.” https://t.co/4hc5eUOyYB pic.twitter.com/MTy07VHUt1

Ramaswamy’s Evolving Views
Pence’s team also pointed out Ramaswamy’s changing stance on the election. In his book, Ramaswamy criticized Trump’s refusal to concede and his claims of a stolen election. However, after announcing his candidacy, Ramaswamy shifted his blame from Trump to “pervasive censorship.” This inconsistency has raised eyebrows and led to accusations of flip-flopping.
“It was a dark day for democracy. The loser of the last election refused to concede the race, claimed the election was stolen, raised hundreds of millions of dollars from loyal supporters, and is considering running for executive office again. I’m referring, of course, to Donald Trump. … What he delivered in the end was just another tale of grievance, a persecution complex that swallowed much of the Republican party whole. … I was especially disappointed when I saw President Trump take a page from the Stacey Abrams playbook. His claims were just as weak as Abram’s.”
Despite his criticism of Trump, Ramaswamy clarified that he is not convinced the election was stolen, further highlighting his evolving views on the matter.
