Poll Shows Just How Unhappy Americans Are With Immigration Under Biden

A new poll shows that Americans’ dissatisfaction with immigration levels has spiked since President Joe Biden took office.

The poll, conducted last month by Gallup, found that dissatisfaction with the level of immigration into the country has risen to 58 percent, up 8 points since last year.

Most of the increase in dissatisfaction comes from respondents who want lower levels of immigration. Thirty-five percent said they want less immigration, up from 19 percent last year. Support for more immigration has plummeted to just 9 percent.

The United States has seen illegal border crossings skyrocket under the Biden administration. Deportations by Immigration and Customs Enforcement fell 70 percent in 2021 from the previous year, according to agency data. Amid the rise in illegal entry, the White House has resisted calls for transparency, withholding the release of reports on deportations and visa overstays.
