Pentagon touts no US casualties during defense against ‘hundreds’ of Iranian missile attacks
United States Central Command reported on Saturday that there have been no American casualties or injuries in the first 12 hours of the United States and Israeli military operation against Iran.
Following the joint military strikes against Iran, the Islamist regime launched counterattacks targeting Israel and U.S. military bases in the Middle East. CENTCOM reports that there has been “minimal” damage to the U.S. installation and has not impacted operations.
President Donald Trump announced early Saturday morning that the United States waged a “massive and ongoing operation” with Israel against Iran.
THE US AND ISRAEL ATTACKED IRAN: WHAT WE KNOW
“The President ordered bold action, and our brave Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Guardians, and Coast Guardsmen are answering the call,” said Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of CENTCOM.
U.S. forces “successfully” defended against hundreds of Iranian missile and drone strikes, according to the CENTCOM press release.
CENTCOM said the operation was the “largest regional concentration” of the American military’s firepower “in a generation.”
Iran has targeted other countries in the region, with there being reports of explosions in Bahrain, Qatar, the United Araab Emirates, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.
TRUMP ANNOUNCES ‘MASSIVE AND ONGOING OPERATION’ AGAINST IRAN
Trump warned that the operation could last longer and acknowledged that U.S. personnel or bases could come under attack in retaliation from Iran.
“We may have casualties, that often happens in war, but we’re doing this not for now. We’re doing this for the future, and it is a noble mission,” Trump said in a video posted to Truth Social. “[Iran] attempted to rebuild their nuclear program and to continue developing long-range missiles that can now threaten our very good friends and allies in Europe, our troops stationed overseas, and could soon reach the American homeland.”
